    Default I give up

I've followed all instructions, graphics simply doesn't work.

I've tried all resolutions, set them on desktop resolution, exiting to solve the cursor bug, reloading again, the game just doesn't work. I tried custom battles, the bar VERY slowly runs to the right, but the battle never loads. I have to ctrl-alt-canc the game every time.

Without borderless windows and windowed mode, the game autoset the resolution into something that simply doesn't fit to my screen and it's either unplayable or simply crashes.

    I give up.

Although this might sound obvious, or long shots. Try the following....
1- Check or reinstall direct-x make sure its good and not corrupt
2- Check for updated Video drivers
3- Have you tried installing M2TW in a different directory(If you have it in default)
4- Total fresh install(If you install in a different directory covers 4 also)
5- Perhaps try changing unit size to small(Though I doubt that is affecting your issue)
6- Another thing though slim but could help, scan hard drive for errors and defrag.
7- If you have a registry scanning and defraging program do so. Registry is constantly being mussed by system operation. I scan registry at least once a week.
8- If none of the above work. Do other mods work fine? Do other mods? How about 1.3 CoW?
9- If Yes. I would install 4 versions of CoW
    1.3 CoW
    1.4 CoW
    1.41 CoW
    1.42 CoW
Then play each alone to see which is the most stable and fun for myself.
    Hope this helps

Mods without borderless windows mode works fine, it's just that mode that freaks my pc out. It does the same with SS 6.4 (which has the same windowed-borderless mode), exactly. The annoying thing it's that i don't seem to be able to DISABLE it, because it freezes/crashes even in fullscreen mode so i just can't play.

Fresh install are not a solution since i've installed SS from nothing AFTER giving up with cow and the problem is the same with this new mod.

I'll try another driver download but i already did just 1-2 weeks ago... let's try again i don't have much options.

There is one more solution: maybe it is time to treat yourself and get a new computer! (I would also get a decent graphics card to go with this, lol). A refurbished duo core should be really cheap nowadays.

I have a good hardware: i played 1.3 version at a good resolution (1280*960) and with textures and unit detais at maximum. It seems i'm having serious problems with my HD 3870's drivers (never had before, don't know why the hell are they showing up now...), can someone post me a link to the newest version of them? I've windows xp 32bit...

    @Fracchione- italiano?

Yeah i've tried them. Gave me a bunch of problems, with my monitor being accused to "not support the graphic driver", whatever the heck it should mean...

Now i seem to be able to play, at least at Third Age, but my maximum screen resolution is 1024*768. Disturbing. Before trying to fix the game issue i was able to use 1280*1024, now i have to greatly tune down resolution but at least ONE mod works...

That's... come on, WTF is wrong with those drivers?!? >.<

Now i'll try a full reinstall of the whole mod, let's see if it works... i hppe the "borderless issue" doesn't screw my drivers again as it SEEMS to do last time. I had no problems at all before that.

Perhaps you should look for some legacy drivers.

In the list of supported devices there aren't HD 3870, as far as i can't see.

The odd thing is that weeks ago all was going well...

Hate to say it "Virus" maybe.
Perhaps you should first do system scan, then do a restore for say 3 weeks ago.

Pretty sure there isn't any virus.

I would still do a system restore to see if it helps. Better than a full restore!

Sounds like your graphic drivers are corrupt.

When you reinstall drivers, sometimes the old files will not be overwritten. I think that windows can see the old files (.dlls), and if they are the same size, will not overwrite them. The result is that you think you reinstall, but you did nothing.

So you have three options. 1. You can install windows generic graphic driver (svga). Reboot and then reinstall your ATI drivers. Hopefully, this will overwrite the corrupt files. 2. You can try to find a good ATI uninstaller. This gets rid of all previous installs and deletes their files. After this you can reinstall your graphics drivers. 3. Full system restore (not windows), as mentioned by Red Dwarf. I think windows system restore will do the trick.

First i'll see if at least at 1024*768 i can play it. If i can, i can live with it... annoying, but meh

I'd boot to safemode and run drivercleaner, then install the drivers from the card manufacturers website.
