    Default Modding E:TW

    Lads,

I've got me a couple of questions and I do not know where to put them (or in seperate topics at all) so I am just going to pose them here:

    - How can I modify the game (do explain again, I have forgotten and cannot remember)?
    - How can I change the political entity of a faction (monarchy to republic and such)?
    - How can I enable the Royal Family Tree of a faction?
    - How can I change the Royal Family Tree of a faction?

    Cheers,
    Bowden

P.S. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

To modify the game, create new mod .packs with the Pack File Manager and enable them with the mod manager or user_empire_script.

The others I have no idea lol.

You find the answers for the other questions in your startpos.esf file.
For editing this file you need the ESF editor. In campaign_env - world- faction_array - you find the faction which you wanna mod. Open it and you will find the family tree and also the governorstable, editable by you.

    Tools for modding:

    ESF Editor 1.4.5
    PFM Pack file manager
    DB Editor 1.8

ESF Editor for editing campaign himself. (When you familiar with ESF, take 1.4.3 but start with 1.4.5)
DB Editor for coding. (unit stats, building stats etc etc.)
PFM for editing packfiles. (sounds, animations, pictures)
You can also edit DB files with PFM but i recommend DB Editor for this.

Hope this helps, ask when you have questions.

I'll have a go later on.
    Thanks for now.

Modding pre-Empire sure was a lot easier....

    Cheers

If you mean the button, you'll need a decent knowledge of Lua, plus how to decompile and compile UI scripts.
Remember when compiling Lua source that Lua uses float numbers, not double.

I'm not going to "explain" a programming language here, google is your friend
If you want pointers to good tutorials/resources, just shout. I'll be glad to help
