Recommended settings to improve performance

Hello, I am new at this game and so far even though I have yet to win a MP battle I am very much enjoying it a lot.

I would like to increase performance since it seems like I get lots of lag and stuff (right now I have the default HIGH settings under graphics). Anyway, here are my specs below, any tips you can give me to increase performance and hopefully without have a huge decrease in graphics would be greatly appreciated!

Toshiba Satellite A505
Intel Core i7 CPU Q729 @1.60GHz 1.60GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB (this I think I can increase to 8GB at some point, which I will probably do)
Windows 7 64 bit.

Your Satellite will run hot with this game and degrade performance.

Your cpu is not up to spec.

What is your gpu and how much dedicated graphics memory?

Thanks for the info, I attached the dxdiag here. My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 310M (not the best I know).

For the running hot, I got a chill mat thing with fans which has been helping with that issue.

To be honest, I believe you already have all you can get out of it.

The only thing you can do is play with the graphics settings and seeif you can get some more.

@vanadis, have they updated theirs since the last Napoleon Patch? Some things changed on lower end machines.

I don't think so. That site is from a week or 2 after the release of the game as far as I know. Still the essentials are the same, some settings provide an increase in graphic sweetness withouth hampering performance at all.

Thank you Irishron, tweaked things a bit and is working better (it did help also to shut down all unncessary processes/services). Now, I just need to continue practicing to get better!! I have yet to win a battle in MP
