5.0 Bug

I've been fighting against the Jerry’s and I've found out that just like a certain Golden Retriever we have in the family they have a phobia of heights! Getting to the point, they won’t cross bridge and that’s when they attack.

I don’t know if this is the case with all barbarians factions or just the Jerry's, but I thought I best let you know.

Maybe they know you have a greater force than them? WHat was the Army sizes and what units? The AI does not always attack if you have more units or Better units. If anything it would be a random bug, because that part of the AI cannot be adjusted from one faction to the next. So something must be preventing them like your army? lol

i ahve had the same problem when i was fighting Gaul there is no soloution if you go and listen to the general he keeps telling his troops to move but they do not move so what i did was retreat and let him attack me again only in an open field.

I was out numbered 2 to 1, they had better units, with more experience plus a general and they were attacking me. This was not the first time this has happened either. Gee I so annoyed with the A.I last night.

I might run a few custom battles and see what happens.

Oh well, 1.5 patch makes battles better. 6.0 is based off 1.5 :-)

Where there any archers in your enemy's army? I've noticed that armies with archers are quite stubborn in crossing a bridge even when on offense, as they send all their archers to the front and just hang out there. Next time, try positioning your army as far back as you can; sometimes you can dupe them into crossing whether they have archers or not. If you *kill all the archers* then the enemy AI seems permanently stuck.

That's very much true. I noticed this bug along time ago and it really got me frustrated until I found out why. Now, whenever I'm guarding a bridge and the enemy has some kind of missile troops, I'll leave a few of them alive until I see the enemy in the process of storming the bridge.

Its an RTW bug, I dont work for CA there isnt much I can do. lol

Freddie, first put them in 3 lines, then activate shield wall and see what happens, cause that formation looks pretty cool.
