Icon5 A question for IBFD expansions?

Hi guys this mod is great and Im playing it a lot but I had IBFD FLAGELLUM DEI VII and I want to install the other mods from IBFD

But my question is where to install it?In the IBFDFD folder or in the root directory? And does they're modfoldered? And from where to download it?

    Thanks in advance

You certainly wouldn't install another of the hosted mods inside the IBFD VII itself, typical they all go inside the RTW folder. The mods usually have their own folder along side the original BI expansion.

The question is if the particular mod is not foldered and alters the original RTW or BI files. If so, simply make a complete copy of the RTW with BI just for that particular mod in the activation folder. This will involve copying or downloading RTW to a temp folder, renaming it and then moving it into the activision folder alongside the original RTW folder. Although you could simply have it just about anywhere.......this game is pre steam. Then simply adjust the target as you download the mod.

The rest of the hosted mods are here. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=214

Fall of Rome (FOR) (BI) has very nice looking units, but only a variation of the original BI map. Also it is not mod foldered and will need its own BI expansion RTW.

There's RIO's up above. You can have that as mod foldered version in the original RTW folder or an un-foldered version in it's own copy of RTW. I'd suggest going for the un-foldered version.

The provincial campaign in 434 gets you fighting toe to toe with Attila in short order. Or if you play the Huns you are ready to unleash yourself on the decadent Romans..

RIO's has a giant very attractive map and was one of the most enjoyable RTW Mods to play. Unfortunately the RTW game engine doesn't handle the giant maps that great and can crash. I don't know if things have improved since I last played back in June.

Sort of hoping we get a MTW2 version of the large continental campaign at some point which can handle large maps better.

    Welcome here GeorgiBG

The Rio VII is mod folded along with the rest of the IB mods thus there is no need to worry where to Dl the mods. They create their own batch files.

The mods Rio VII mod is very much outdated now and should be updated to the newer ones...with the Rio BRG IV and patch. The Rio mods after Rio VII unfortunately require you to first copy the bi folder and rename it rio before downloading but having the Rio VII already installed will allow you to copy the newest version right over it. I may use the Rio VII as a pre download to the Rio BRG V I'm currently working on.

I just need to clarify wulfgar610 very well done explaination above in one regard(and thank you for the nice words wulfgar610) - As for CTDs from a the huge map, this is not the case to my knowledge. The game is very stable in the campaign mode. Issues arise for some players during ingame battles(not fatal..game will reload and finish that battle)so prior saves are important. to combat that I have two addendum patches, a sprites and officer patch that for most players this stops the annoying in game battle ctds.

All the IB mods are based in different stages of the late Roman Empire. They are historically based along with some different philosophical approaches to the game. I recommend you giving them all a try

If I might add all of the IBFD mods I know of are mod foldered, so you can have them all simeultaneously installed. Also someone converted FoR v 1.4 or 1.5 or whatever to a modfoldered version, it's not official but it's handy.

    @wulfgar610
P.S. to answer your M2TW question Wulfgar610 there is an IBII Flagellum Dei, but it's not gonna be made for awhile. Africa Vandalorum is currently the IBII campaign covering Rio's 434 campaign though.

IBUR II will be for M2TW with the other IBII mods and will start shortly after the time of Rio's IBFD BRG Aetius campaign mod.

Ok thanks to all for your very explained answersI will try all expansions because specially the Roman Timeframe is my favorite - when the Western Roman empire is challenged by the barbarians because its hard to handle it

My bigger challenge was the Huns and the Goths but I had crashed them allThe strange thing is that the Eastern Roman empire had attacked me but I had conquered the Balkans and Constantinopole as a counter attack

Invasio Barbarorum is really great mod.

And one last question how bigger is this map I love bigger maps(if you can make a picture will be ideal)
