My CD doesnt work anymore.

So, my Rome: Total War CD doesnt work anymore, no matter how many times i re-entered it in the disc tray it didnt bring up the installer like it does with all other gaming CD's.

I dont know how to clean CD's and i cant return it to the shop coz its years old.

What should i do?

Buy a new game if you think it worth the cash. If it is not worth the greatly discounted from the original retail that the game can now be purchased, I guess you should not play the game in the future.

you can buy a CD cleaning device, that you could always use afterwards for other CDs or you could try on another computer it it works, and if it does, use an external CD drive.

Buy the game again, it's really cheap now. Or buy it on steam that way you'll always have a copy.

Same as above, its really cheap now, if your not good with discs get a digital download off Steam or something similar.

Digital downloads are really cheap. I mean from some places they hardly cost anything.

You could buy a new copy, or stop playing rtw which is getting old and save your money for another game.

When i got a big crack in me old CD i bought a new one. My new disk stays in mint condition and was am free to pwn people yet again.

RTW is Still the best TW game IMHO...

ETW is great if you want full moddability, efficient patches and free extra units.. CA really worked hard on ETW

The AI in ETW are so realistic, when I even select my cavalry to check their stats, the enemy automatically form a square! What else could you want?

To the OP, I do remember once breaking a disc by accident and calling up the publishers, they asked for my serial code and other details and they sent me out a new disc..
