Default Voice sounds different in head?

So I decided to record my voice one day and was shocked to find out what it sounded like. It was lower in pitch but It wasn't as resonant as I hear it. Apparently your voice sounds different to yourself since it travels through flesh and bones. Anyways that confuses me. People usually say my voice resonant. But in the recordings it doesn't sound resonant at all. Maybe I'm crazy?

Yea i found that out a few years ago when i heard myself on a video. It does sound a lot more noticeable when you're a kid but when you get older, your voice doesn't sound too much different. You don't notice as much of a change in pitch.

Sound travels better through solid matter/liquid better than it does through air. Hence you hear all of the subtleties of your voice. At the same time I'm sure both pathways distort the 'real' sound. Your voice as others hear it tends to be higher pitch than the voice you hear.

    Yes, that's what happens.
You can notice it better from a camera video.
Under the patronage of Emperor Maximinus Thrax
"Steps to be taken in case Russia should be forced out of war considered. Various movements [of ] troops to and from different fronts necessary to meeting possible contingencies discussed. Conference also weighed political, economic, and moral effect both upon Central and Allied powers under most unfavorable aspect from Allied point of view. General conclusions reached were necessity for adoption of purely defensive attitude on all secondary fronts and withdrawing surplus troops for duty on western front. By thus strengthening western front [those attending] believed Allies could hold until American forces arrive in numbers sufficient to gain ascendancy."

I dislike how my voice sounds to others. My voice is much deeper to myself.
