1.4.2 Full English Version

Is the 1.4.2 Full English a complete replacement for 1.4.1, or is it simply a replacement of the data file kind of action? In downloading it, should I remove my current 1.4.1 version? Also, if I download the noted English version, then I don't need to English version or will it override what needs to be? noted in the other stickied thread? I'm not super experience is mods and how to download them, so I need to ask these kinds of questions.

From what I saw Of the Full 1.42 you can skip patching 1.4 to 1.41. Plus it has the english Translation already applied.

I have a functioning 1.4.1 now. So, should I ignore the full 1.4.2 English option and apply a patch and then apply an English Translation patch to that? I should download one of these options is that correct?

From what I am seeing with my own games, CTDs and instability occur when we start mixing up the Russian patches and English translation updates.

When I do 1.4. + 1.4.1 + English translation 1.4.1 + 1.4.2 patch + 1.4.2 English translation = instability and CTDs.
When I do 1.4 +1.4.1 patch + 1.4.2 patch + 1.4.2 English translation = stability and greatly reduced CTDs. Dunno why.

So I guess make sure you have a copy of COW without any English translation. Use this as your base for installing the Russian patches (keep it as a clean copy). And then install English translation at the very end. e.g., I have backup 1.4 directory. I now use this to install all Russian patches. When latest translation comes out, I copy this into default COW directory and then I install English translation.

if there is a workable 1.4.1 then install the cumulative patch 1.4.2 and translate to English
