Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Post your dxdiag. Too many aren't made for Medieval2 battles.
Buying a new disc is smart for Rome. I have my scratches full of toothpaste to get by but I don't think for much longer.
http://www.microsoft.com/net/Download.aspx will take care of your .Net framework problems.
Try uninstalling this way. http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...l-II-Total-War

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Install your graphics drivers for Win 7, 64 bit. Absolutely nothing about your graphics in it.
May have install your motherboard chipset drivers, too, since the onboard chip is not even showing up.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
It won't in Safe Mode. You need it in regular mode.
Your card should play the game but not as good as my fart. It'd be great for watching Blu-ray movies, though.
It's a rebranded GT 240 of which is a rebranded GT 8600 at best. It's slow for gaming.
Turn your monitor down to 1024 x 768, delete the medieval2.preferences.cfg, and try a campaign with what it pulls up for default settings. Then try a battle with those settings and adjust accordingly.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Ok thanks. I've never had problems with the speed :S Its been brilliant, smooth ever since i bought the computer.
And i did what you said but its still ctd. Played as venice with and didnt alter anything, went straight to take the small village by venice and clicked battle map. Started to load. Saw a small glimpse of the field and my army and then it crashed.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Try it with all the ingame graphics settings off or as low as they will go?
Got Nvidia's Control Center set to application controlled?
If so, it's not fighting battles.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
I can't even get into my Nvidia Control Panel right now without rebooting.
In profiles or something like that is where I always foung it.
I'd just set everything in there for the game application controlled.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Ok i went into registry editor and deleted all the files from medieval 2. Reinstalled it, uninstalled all the kingdoms expansions and i started up again. Now im getting the "Unspecificed error" message. I've also installed the netframework 4.0
Edit. Tried deleting Preferences, that didnt work either.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Okay, this do it this way.
1. Uninstall using the Control Panel staarting with the Kingdoms campaign.
2. Delete both Sega folders-Program Files (x86) and %appdata%.
3. Disable the UAC.
4. Run a good registry cleaner. I use Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. Some prefer Ccleaner.
5. Reboot.
6. Install in C:\Games.
Now, start a campaign to generate the preferences.cfg, and try a battle on the lowest setting available in the options screen including off.
If this does not work, you can't fight battles.

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
Maybe this will end the problem.
You may want to try Nvidia's 266 drivers, too. I am having good luck after a fresh install of them.

Running Eusing registry cleaner. I click on scan registry issues, it comes up with a big list. All ticked, then i press repair. I scan again and there are still problems? :S

Re: Net framework is stopping me from playing battles
I do it once. Some Windows will regenerate right behind it. It gets the most important ones the first pass.
