    Default Slow Turns.

    Hello,

I bought MTW 2 during Xmas sales on steam, played it, loved it, went to mods and found this one to be interesting. However I immidiatly noticed the really slow turns for the CPU from the start, really annoying because I already know my next move(s) so I don't really want 1 min staring per turn for a turn that lasts 30 seconds at the start. ...

I installed a optimize script from here but that didn;t work either, I also only have Savage AI, permanent arrows and watchtowers on. This only happends with this mods and the 'Third Age'.
    My pc should destroye this game, sadly it is old game and not optimized for most of my gear;

    HDD: 2x WD1500HLFS (150 GB) Raptor's
PSU: TruePower New Series TP-750 (750 Watt)
    MBB: P6T SE (Intel® X58)
    RAM: 6 GB DDR3-1600 Tri-Kit (6144 MB)
    CPU: Core™ i7 950 (4x 3066 MHz) @ 4000 Mhz
    GFX: 2x HD5870 (ATI Radeon HD5870) (crossfire)

Is there any more I can do? Also something else I noticed is that spy's 'lag' when I move them around the map... really strange!

    Jin Shepherd,

Firstly welcome to SS, hope you enjoy this fabulous mod.

SS has considerably more factions than TATW or vanilla MTW2 and also there are more scripts working in regards events that happen and notification. Like you my spy moves slowly, rather irritating, I put it down that he is having a good look about on the way!!!. My Computer is not as powerful as yours, takes about 1min to 1 min 30 secs, rather fast for me, the old one was like 4-5 mins

Ah, so it is normal then, guess that is the drawback from going 'vanilla' to this mod ( very fast cpu moves heh ) I guess I need to give it a chance! Though I do hope it wont get to much worse when you progress into the game...

Also, I thought I saw a vid of this before I downloaded it, and saw you could take Ireland? But both Early and Late I cannot choose Ireland, only Scotland and England, is this intential?

    JinShepard,

You will notice that the turns will get a little slower as the campaign progresses as the factions expand their territories, with more armies and Priests/merchants, etc. However some factions will die and therefore a point where the turns get a little faster.

Ireland as faction was sacrificed, they rarely left their island, the ai is reluctant to use naval invasions, so they were replaced by the Timurids, who arrive after the Mongols to give them a kicking

Bummer, poor irish peeps, couldn't let him in for players to play, and CPU to well not pick? Probably not I guess =)

Gonna give it a shot this weekend, a proper shot! I'll try to ignore the slugish turns =)
