Every single siege battle lead to desktop

SS 6.4
Playing with Poland, late era, VH/VH, Savage AI, RR\RC on, watchtowers on.
Turn number 77.

Game CTD every single time while loading the battle with settlements.
Every single siege battle collapse and CTD, no matter what siege equipment i have, no matter if its city or castle, every single attempt lead to desktop! LOL
It is not total war anymore , this is TOTAL DISASTER!

Any idea how to fix it ? Oh, note there is nothing in system.log, yeah, its clear, tabula rasa

Which folder did you get that log from?

Main game folder, the same where ss_setup and launcher are.

Guess i'll re-install the whole damned thing. TONS of files are missing and sub-dirs as well. Anyway, here is the log file:

As well as newt's advice, could you please tell us:

1. How long had you been playing when CTD occurred?
2. How many battles had you taken part in before CTD?
3. What version of DirectX are you using?
4. If you are using ATI card, are you using driver 10.7?

Sure,

1. Around 5 turns. I was besieging Moors settlements and found the bug, CTD during siege battles, so i thought its random shot and forced them to sally out and finished them off there. Before the problem appeared i had at least 50 siege battles (during war with HRE they constantly besieged my settlements) and everything were ok. I killed HRE around turn #50 accidentialy lol. Then around 15 turns ago i besieged 2 cuman provincess sucessfully.

2. Before CTD had at least 50 siege battles.
3. I doubt its a directx issiue, everything worked fine even with full stack vs full stack battles.
4. I use nVidia GPU.

No idea why, but the log file reports there are loads of missing files, textures etc. No idea how the hell these files actually are missing if they were there some days ago, its simply beyond me. I have the game installed on separate partition, not even the same HDD that OS is installed and i do not use any cheap or crappy cleaning progz.

OK re-installed the whole thing and still doesn't work. Siege battles works ONLY if i use mercenary troops or light men at arms, spear militia and so.
It crash every time i siege with elite units like Dismounted Polish Knights and Dismounted Polish Nobles. So its completly not-playable for me.
Could be the same problem as hospitallers with armour upgrade i guess.

The same army can sucessfully participate in siege battle of Sarkel ... but ... can't play siege battle of Genoa! CTD while loading the battle! I doubt its fix-able.

There are so many odd entries in logfile as well, like this one:

data/unit_models/_units/Lithuania/Lith_late_Cavalry/textures/pole_late_cavalry_armor.texture__unit_models/_units/Lithuania/Lith_late_Cavalry/AttachmentSets/variations/south_european/pole_late_cavalry_stuff_diff.texture

Lithuania is already destroyed and im playing with Poland.
Not to mention i have re-installed SS 6.3 + 6.4 an hour ago

Could you check that your download file sizes match what they should be on the 6.3/6.4 release thread?

In a single gaming session, say today, how many minutes/hours have you played and how many battles in that time approx, before the CTD?

Are you using WIN7 or XP, what was position with UAC if WIN7 on install and when playing?

File sizes are OK, checked both SS 6.3 & 6.4.
Well, spent around 2 hours playing maybe and did 5 battles (all in open field, in africa and eastern europe).

Im using WinXP so we can skip UAC issiue.

OK, I did a test.

Started NEW SS 6.4 game with Poland and went for siege battle of Genoa.
Result: CTD as always.

Then ...

Started NEW SS 6.3 game with Poland and went for siege battle of Genoa (same army composition as in 6.4)
Result: Everything works fine! No probs at all.
