I have just found out

that changing the camera to type 2 and changing the camera movement speed makes a huge difference lol. I can finally move from one edge of the map to the other instantanously, its a tad bit difficult to get used to it now on to changing hot keys to unit specific commans. So what do you guys think about changing the camera type and camera speed.

My camera speed isn't set too high actually, I tend to keep zoomed out to have most of my army in view most of the time anyway.

There's also another thing you may want to try if you like instantaneous movement:
Ctrl-F9 through Ctrl-F12 stores a camera position, you can recall it again with the same F-key (without Ctrl). It really is instantaneous though, I don't use it because I find it a bit irritating.

what do you mean type 2?

You can change the camera settings to 0 (default), 1 and 2.
