Multiplayer version differs from other versions?

Thread: Multiplayer version differs from other versions?

Default Multiplayer version differs from other versions?

I bought NTW a while ago and I installed in on Steam (I used to play with a moderation though). I wanted to play a Multiplayer match, but "the Host's game version differs from yours" is what I see on all servers. Now seeing as I'm playing the game through Steam, how can my game differ from someone who plays it... through Steam as well?

Edit: 2nd question is "Why doesn't my sound work ingame at all?"

I'm using a USB stick for my sound, could it be that I need to change my soundthing ingame?

Siingle player and multiplayer are the same, patched version with no mods.

The game probably can't find your stick for sound drivers. Try using the onboard sound.

I'll try the onboard soundcard, thanks for the tip. That still leaves the question why I can't play with others? I guess you mean that the previous mod I installed (which I deinstalled) makes my version different from the others?

If a piece of the mod is still on there or listed in the scripts folder, yes.

I deleted the mod through 1. the uninstallation process and 2. the "configuration - add/remove hardware" way... Then I reinstalled NTW on Steam using my disks, but it seems to have failed The scripts can only be in the folder where I installed NTW right? In that case, I'd have to delete that folder and reinstall it again I suppose... I'll see if I can get it to work...

Thanks for the help so far!

http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...mpire-Napoleon for the scripts folder. And, no, the uninstaller does not touch it.

You dont have to reinstall everything. If you deleted a folder, just start steam, right click on N:TW and click properties ---> local files ---> check games integrity (or something like this, i got a german version...). Steam will download every missing file automaticly.
