    Default A few things I need help with...

    Hi all,
    Working hard on my mod and I need help with a few things:

    1. Is it possible to change the strat model of Faction Leaders and Faction Heirs so that they don't look like regular generals? If so, how?

    2. Related to the above question... Is it possible to have Faction Leaders/Faction Heirs have different Battle Models than regular generals?

    3. How do I make certain units recruitable only if certain regions are owned? For example if I want Viking Raiders to be only recruitable in Denmark (just an example)? What about religion? Is it possible for certain units to be built only if a certain percent of a settlement's population is a certain religion?

    4. Is it possible to have two factions merge if certain requirements are met? For example, I have Aragon and Leon-Castille as seperate factions. How would I go about making the two merge into 'Spain' if one of them controls a certain part of the Iberian peninsular?

    5. How can I give Lithuania the option of changing religion when a certain percent of its population are Catholic? Would it be possible to ALSO give them the option of converting to Orthodox christianity (and Islam for that matter)? Would the same be possible for all factions?

    1, and 2, descr_character.txt example:

    faction milan
    dictionary 15
    strat_model broken_lancer
    strat_model fancy_general ; heir
    strat_model irish_king ; leader
    battle_model fancy_general
    battle_equip gladius, chainmail shirt helmet and rectangular shield

    3, Someone with experience making AoRs should answer.

    4, Yes, it's the Kalmar union which I think is in the Teutonic campaign, you will find the script there.

    5, Yes all possible. Lith changes religion in the Teutonic campaign, the same campaign_script.txt is what governs the process.

    Thanks for the reply.

    About 1 and 2: How does the game know which model to use with heir and king? Does it simply have to do with which line they are on in the descr_character entry?

    About 4: Does the new faction count as one of the 31 factions that is max in the game, or can it be created even though there is already 31 factions?

    Yes.

    Yes, unfortunately, as far as I understand, it counts. You need an extra faction for the new faction to become if you want that faction to change name when it combines. Otherwise you can have a faction kill itself by giving everything to another faction, but no name change, and that won't cost a faction slot.

    I tried editing descr_character text like you suggested:

    faction england
    dictionary 2
    strat_model northern_general
    strat_model northern_generic_king ; heir
    strat_model northern_generic_king ; leader
    battle_model Northern_General
    battle_equip gladius, chainmail shirt helmet and rectangular shield

    But nothing has changed. All named characters, including heir and king, still use the generic Northern general strat model.

    What am I missing?

    A change to the traits. Go into EDCT and find the factionleader and facionheir traits and adding the Effect Level 2 and Effect Level 1 respectively.

    Yeah, good point. '3' is actually 3 questions and only one of them is about AoRs.
