    Default Fallout : Total war

After a lot of time thinking about such an idea i finally decided too throw it too the community for reception.
    Hopefully this one takes off

    Fallout : Total war

    The "idea"

Create a Mod based off the Fallout universe, the mod would cover post apocalyptic America, and if the Mod were a success, Europe would surely follow.

The Goal would be too create a mod that is easily modifiable by members of the community much as TATW and SS have done. The idea there being too permit those in the community too add their own different outlook into the Fall out Universe.

Mini mod possibilities too get it started.

    1. Capital wasteland mini mod :

The map would be similar in size too Fall out three with all the Factions present

( Brotherhood of Steel, Brotherhood outcasts, Capital waste land super mutants, Megaton, Tenpenney tower, Capital wastes Ghouls, Paradise falls slavers, Chinese remnants, The Enclave, Reilly's Rangers, Rivet City, Talon company, Vault 101, and the Regulators.

    2. Mojave wasteland mini mod :

Similar map as fallout New Vegas with the same factions

( New California Republic, Caesar's Legion, The Strip {new vegas}, The Boomers, The Brotherhood of Steel, Followers of the Apocalypse, The Great Khans, Enclave Remnants, Fiends, Jackals, Vipers, Scorpions, Goodsprings, Novac, Jacobstown {supermutants}, Black Mountain {Utobithian Supermutants}, Kings {freeside}, Powder Gangers, West side Militia, Nipton, Van Graff’s, North Vegas, and the Bright Followers/Bright Brotherhood.

    3. The Enclave/Brotherhood war Mini mod: Covers the occasionally referred too wars that occurred pre Fallout New Vegas. The Mod would cover two main conflicts, the first the Enclave war (NCR and the BOS against the Enclave) then the Brotherhood war (NCR VS BOS with Enclave remnants floating around.)

The campaign map would be of California, parts of west Arizona, west Nevada, and southern Oregon. Factions would include.

(The Brotherhood of Steel, Brotherhood of Steel Mojave Chapter, The Enclave, The New California Republic, Black Foot Tribe, The followers of the Apocalypse,
Vault Dwellers, Chinese Espionage remnants, Circle of Steel (emergent), Slavers, The Great Khans, Vault City, Jackals, Vipers, Scorpions, Raiders, Super Mutant remnants, and the Van Graff’s.

Possible factions for the eventual Grand campaign that would cover the whole USA

The date in the Grand campaign would be after the events of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, 2281 AD. There could possibly be a couple different campaigns based off the games, including New Vegas controlled by the NCR, Mr. House, Caesars Legion, or the Courier (independent New Vegas). As well as the affects of Broken Steel (weakened Brotherhood, weakened Enclave.)

The Goal of the Grand campaign is too serve as the “Final chapter” for the Fallout games, letting you the players decide who will come too dominate and unite the USA wastes.

Possible factions for a Grand Campaign would include :

Brotherhood of Steel – California chapter

Brotherhood of Steel – Midwest chapter

Brotherhood of Steel – Capital Wasteland Chapter

Brotherhood of Steel – Mojave Chapter

(Or just one BOS faction, would depend on team/community input)

Enclave - California, Mojave, Capital wasteland, and Chicago.

    New Vegas strip - Nevada

    New California Republic.

    The Boomers - New Vegas

Caesars Legion - Emergent faction form Black foot tribe

Great Khans - new Vegas, Mojave, California, Oregon.

    Vault dwellers - every state.

Slavers - isolated bands, usually controlling the ruins of old cities.

Super Mutants - formed into strong but isolated bands through out America.

Reilly's Rangers - capital wasteland area

Pitt raiders - Pittsburgh and surrounding Pennsylvania

BOS Outcasts - Capital wasteland area.

Chinese Espionage remnants - formed into isolated groups with limited numbers in Maryland, California, and Nevada.

The Institute - Formerly MIT, now a leader in robotics.

Reaver Movement - Religious movement in the Chicago area.

The Ciphers - New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado.

Circle of Steel - Brotherhood splinter sect in California.

Viper Raiders - American South west

Jackal Raiders - American south west

    Vault City - western Nevada

The Ghouls – Strong communities through out the old USA

These Factions would be the Major ones in a Grand Campaign covering the whole 48 continental states, with minor factions being developed based off team and community input.

    Features :

    A Full trait overhaul

Revisions of the Plague trigger, and make it into the FEV virus or the other diseases in post apocalyptic America.

GECK areas, where the Garden of Eden creation kit has been used, and thus ultra productive in farm produce and population.

Would also make the GECK a building that could be constructed with immense farming benefits, but only in areas where a Vault with the GECK is present, hidden/secret resource.

Overhaul of city models and structures.

A key Brotherhood of Steel feature would be the option upon capturing each settlement too remain with their codex and not accept outsiders (limited recruitment numbers, elite units), OR accept outsiders into the Brotherhood, ( Larger recruitment numbers but more low quality units.)

And many, many more features from the games would be considered for implementation.

    Why Medeival II ?

The Medieval II engine offers many benefits the Empire engine doesn't. Variance in units, Close combat with swords, shields and other weapons as well as ranged ones.

There are also some restrictions in Empire that would hamper and or kill development, making MIITW the best option too create a feasible, visually appealing product for the TW community too enjoy.

I want too thank you for taking the time too take a look at this wild idea, I personally would like too see this one take off, and I think it could become a great TW center community adventure too create an outstanding mod.

And with that I relinquish the podium too you for debate.

This sounds really intresting. So what modding can you do? Have you got anything already ready?
Btw I think you should start with less factions.

More of a mapper my self. can do a little txt.

Was planning on working on the map if there is the possibility of getting a Crew together and moving towards getting this done.

Not interested in being mod leader, i'd like too share that responsibility with some more senior moders than myself.

I hope some people take a serious look at this and its possibilities.

Join the 1:13 Crew. Their mod is similar to this.

A suggestion like this would be much more suited for a squad based game rather than total war, Men of War springs to mind. Very few factions in the Fallout universe can truly field an army if at all, also implementing the various unique weapon effects would not be easy, laser, plasma, automatic and so on.

I would never say never, good luck finding a team.

I considered Company of heroes, and it would make it interesting, but as anyone who has played the games knows hand too hand combat is important.

Yes that is true, but the ones we have here with out a doubt can, The NCR has a huge army, the midwest BOS has a seizable one as well. Not too be counted out New Vegas has the large secruitron army, Capital wastes BOS has a decent size force, and the Enclave once was a premier military power.

Needless too say, all unit strengths wouldn't exceed numbers of 50-70, except in the case of the NCR.

Most small settlements would have small bands barely numbering over 25.

Yes i hope no one misinterprets me here, i full on know the challenges and the hard work if this where too get off the ground, i've been on a couple teams in varying roles. I know the work, especially in a mod like this.

Thanks for the well wishes but give them too the community, I would just like too be part of such an en devour, not so much lead it in any capacity.

this sounds really great. tbh i never got that into fallout although this could change that. i really hope this can get off the ground and id just suggest trying to keep it small, although it does seem like you're aiming for that already with no grand campaign until a while in. Hope you can find some other people to run it with you as you don't want to (or dont think you can (which definitely isnt an insult)). Anyway ill be checking on it regularly and i wish i could offer some help but due to lack of time and skills i can only offer my best wishes,...repeatedly

This is an excellent concept. I have fond memories of Fallout Tactics.

Why do you think Medieval 2 engine is better for Fallout mod than Empire/Napoleon/Shogun 2?

I have never worked on a mod for any Total War game but as a player I would prefer to see Fallout Mod in Empire engine. Medieval 2 looks better for mass melee and dominant cavalry, but wherever there are a lot of firearms, I'd rather go with Empire. In addition, Empire engine has much more interesting campaign map gameplay. Imagine how all the province features and resources could be used in a Fallout setting. You could have abandoned factories, military bases, airports, power plants and other stuff which you could slowly restore as you upgrade its building through tiers. There is also the technology research aspect of Empire engine which fits very well in a Fallout setting. Finally, I've noticed the Great War (WWI) mod for Empire. I wouldn't be surprised if it had some vehicles in it. You could use their experiences with making vehicle units to implement those in the Fallout mod.

I really prefer M2TW (RTW as well) as a game but I'd rather see Fallout Mod in ETW or NTW.

Fallout is a great idea but I think it's not made for any TW games. I mean, in Fallout, there's no standing armies, it's all survivors trying to live.

Brotherhood of Steel, Enclave, NCR and Caesar's Legion certainly have standing armies. Vault City certainly would have developed one had they not been defeated by NCR. Same goes for New Reno and the Master.

btw, TW games are not very realistic about history. Why would a Fallout mod for a TW game have to be 100% true to Fallout setting?

True, after all it's a game no? They do have a sort of standing army but not as numerous as Middle Age armies. But that would be interesting a Fallout mod.

Yeah but you could have battles on small unit size with even less units in the EDU so you can have small tactical battles.

Yeah, small units with loose formations would be totally Fallout.
