No elephants and gauls in Carthage?

Hi all,

I've been playing my Carthaginian campaign and I noticed a few things which have me concerned. I have some questions.

1) Why can I reqruit Gaul mercs in Carthage territory?

2) I built 2 elite calvary stables in two different major cities in Carthage. The description read this would give me access to elephants. Yet, no elephants can be reqruited. What gives?

Carthage was famous for its mercenaries. I think, for gameplay purposes, this allows the carthaginians to hire mercenaries like the ones they really used in war.

Make sure the region you built the stables in regions with the elephant resource?

The elephant calvary stables are built in two major carthage cities (which names escape me at this time). The elephant rescource icon is right next to them. ???

I need help, the Numdians are sending thousands and thousands at me. Only elephants can save me now.

To the question about elephants.

In order to recruit elephants you need Royal Barracks and Royal Stables. make sure you have both of these buildings. Also check if the elephant resource is present in the region (it is a small elepahnt placed some place inside the borders of the prevince, if it is not present, elephants cannot be recruited).
