    Default Stark Archers

    Hey guys!

I have a question: i think the stark archers are a bit weak compared to other nations archers, so i want to power them up! But when i go to the Export_descr_unit file i only see vanilla units and i dont know which one to edit, so can you tell me what are the ones i have to edit??

    Cheers,

Im pretty sure the starks were supposed to have weak archers compared to other factions. Will that change for 1.0?

In the books they used longbows quite a lot. So they should not be weaker.

Ned ordered two of his lords to raise up a few hundered longbows to garrison Moat Calin in AGoT.

The Starks will have several archer units including longbowmen.

Sweetness! Do they get decent cavalry compared to the rest of Westeros? Their heavy cavalry was the same as Southron Knights, save most northmen aside from the Manderly's follow the old gods. Of course I expect the Reach is going to have super heavy uber Knights, but I expect few differences between say Northern heavy horse and the Lannisters.

Yep, they starks get heavy cavalry similar to the southern knights. Maybe they are a bit worse equipped, but the difference should be quite small.

But do the North get stronger morale? Them having a relatively small population etc.

Well if their armor is worse, yes they could have better morale, or a higher attack to signify the fact that they are hardy men used to the cold.

I think giving the Starks the only units with a snow bonus would be fitting with the novels.

Also I am guessing the North will have smaller recruiting pools of Heavy Horse due to the smaller population. And this could also be balanced by having very good quality units, with lesser availability.

Good stuff so far! I can not wait for the real preview.

Well that would make sense since being Northmen, they are naturally hardy and grim. Still they are just men.

I think their hardiness is canceled out by their general unluckyness.

this one may be interesting. This pictire is not for ASoIaF, but it creates a right mood for making Nothern Knights i think.
