Demo will not run

Hello,

Just downloaded the NTW Demo, and it said it was successful. However, when I select it via Steam, it says "Napoleon: Total War has stopped working" before anything happens.

My DxDiag is attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The cpu is below spec.

The graphics chip might if it will do at least Shader 2 but lowend, even for mobile.

Dedicated graphics memory below spec.

Try to install C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\napoleon total war\redist, and then try it.

Thank you for the reply, but I'm afraid I don't understand anything you're talking about, lol.

I'm not very computer savy... the computer is about 2.5 years old, and I gathered that it's not up to the specifications. Is there anything I can do to remedy this? ... can you please explain it to me in lay man's terms...

It's good for office work and watching movies. It is not good for 3d gaming as Napoleon is. You need a new computer.

Ah. It runs Empire fine... is there anything I can do/add to make it work for Napoleon?

If so, verify your game cache, then.

I did that, and it said it validated that everything was there. But still the same thing happened, didn't even launch...

Have you tried to launch it from within Steam?

Have checked your security/firewall/router permissions for Napoleon?

Yeah, from within Steam is the only way I can launch it.

No, what should I be looking for with all of that?

Windows has a default firewall set unless you have a third party one. If you do, check them both.

I have Zone Alarm Security Suite, and everytime Empire would get updated, I'd have to go back in and set it manually. It's not the only program to do it to me.

I have Symanetc. I disabled all anti-virus and firewall protection, same result, "NTW has stopped working"

How much free disc space do you have on your Windows partition?

How much free disc space do you have on your Steam partition?

Have you run disk cleanup and defragged your harddrive?

I have 206 GB of 298 GB free on the C Drive.

I dont know how to check my Steam partition.

Yes, a new hard drive was recently installed, and its defragged every week.

I'm out of ideas.

Contact Steam support and Sega support. You'll probably hear what I just said, though.

Go through the Steam Support FAQs. Maybe something in there.
