I just downloaded Rome: Total Realism and I want to know how to switch to normal RTW without uninstalling RTR. I do remember a thread here asking that question about a week ago but I can't find it or do I remember anyone answering it.

you should have 2 icons, one for RTR and the other for vanilla RTW. keep the regular disk in and just click which icon you want to use

Do they look the same and have the same names? Or are they completely different? I have two icons that look the same, with the same name and picture.
they look the same, you will have to rename one. You're just gonna have to open them to find which one is whichOriginally Posted by Acamas

I suggest using one of these two programs:

The readmes are relatively self-explanatory, and if all else fails, copy your RTR folder and keep it as a secondary modded RTW.

After hours of trying, my RTW wont even start up now. I downloaded the program and it never worked. I copied two RTW folders with a vanilla one and a RTR one and the game didin't start up. I will have to re-instal it and do it all over again from scratch.
You cannot go back to playing vanilla once RTR is installed! What you should have done was copied your RTW vanilla so that you have two copies of the game. Then you take one and install which ever mod you choose to that one. That way, you can play either one. If you have not done this, than it is not possible to switch between the two because once a mod is installed it has changed the game code so to be different from the original (that is the purpose of a mod).
Yes, that is what I was thinking too. I'll do that tommorow. Thanks.
