CA: Please fix the morale bonus bug

Very simple. Why, when Napoleon has fled the battlefield crying like a little girl, should his troops still benefit from his friggin astronomical morale bonus?? Obviously this goes for all generals, but it's especially annoying when fighting Napoleon and his 20/30-morale uber Frenchmen.

I'm pretty sure when your general flees your troops do suffer morale damage already.

Yes, they do. In vanilla NTW it's a moral hit of -6 to be precise.

So if Napoleon is on the field giving a +20, then he dies or flees or whatever bringing a -6... would the remaining troops have a +14 or a -6 total?

With Napoleon there is the problem that the moral bonuses he has as army commander (+5 in total if I remember correctly) are given to all french troops everywhere because he is the head of the state. An army under his command therefore has +10 moral! Personally I think that's a bug (and corrected it for TROM2). Sadly NTW is full of such "small" bugs, which will never get fixed.

The game is called NAPOLEON Total War for a reason. Napoleon is known as being one of the most feared and respected Generals of all time. How is his troops having +10 moral a bug? Makes the game more interesting, in my opinion. Especially if you play as Austria on VH/VH. You will learn very quickly why the entire world was afraid of him.

Its better that way as you can kill more of them and yeah the napoleon morale bonus is insanity its fun killing units down to 20/160 before they finally rout.

Thats right! Finaly someone with senses. Moral is a double edged sword.

Yeah if you have 5 units of your blasting one french that keeps shooting back rather than running you can pick lots more of them off.

I've noticed that too, after Napoleon gets one of my cannon shells stuck up his behind, his troops don't suffer morale loss which is not fair, I still kill them all nonetheless.
