Anyone out there with a lets play video? I think it would be interesting to see how other people play the game.

There is a series of Let's Play videos made by theodorsr on Youtube, but I believe that he used the 4.0 and 4.2 versions. I have been considering to make a short LP myself of 5.0 once we get far enough in development, to demonstrate new and changed features, etc.

All you really need is FRAPS, and a way to record your voice, and perhaps Movie Maker. I mean theres no real editing or anything involved.

The free version of FRAPS only lets you record for periods of 30 seconds, which really isn't sufficient for a long-time commentary session, unless you piece together clips here and there, but then the entire point of the Let's Play is lost (direct commentary while playing). Also, the free version of FRAPS doesn't let you record in high quality, large image size video.

agreed. When testing some new stuff (I can't say what it is, but it'll be big) I was completely lost in what to do, (even with the changelog of what was changed) becuase this aspect of the mod had changed so much.
Imo we need one for atleast this paticular thing, if not one for startpos v2 as well.

I have that and have recorded a battle in TGW with it, but I'm having trouble adding the commentary. How do you record both your voice on a microphone and the game's audio? Can I do it without having to get any other video editing software?

Run Audacity along with the xfire recorder. It's a free, I believe open-sourced audio recorder and editor.
