when is it gonna release
That never gets old![]()
It is a true answer, but I do not like to use it.
I always try to explain our plans even when it is immposible to know release dates, and plans use to change easely when we decide to mod something new, or some team member runs out of free time.
I try to pack a new patch when we see there are something already finished, independent of the rest of the development. This was the case with the new environments/units and that is why we were working to release the new patch that we announced here.
However, in this time, we have changed several things, and we are going to need time to join them together.
Wlesmana is working on new units as you see in this preview, and we are planning to rebalance a bit the recruitment of units in campaign. Seth Krnell, the creator of the cities and buildings, has returnedand he is remodeling some of the city models. The new ones are looking immpresive, and he has learned a lot about how to avoid bugs and glitches when imported into RTW engine. While I'm still adjusting the campaign maps, and helping Krnell to test and fix the cities.
There is still the plan to release a patch with new environments (almost finished), the new units (almost finished), and now we are hoping to include some remodeled cities.
At this moment lotr-tw team is working as much as at old times, and I think it is better if we forget about a quick release like I planned, and to focus on the long term: units, environments and settlements that fit each other visually, and improved balance and gameplay.
Sooo... no release dates for now.
ahh i see, but this is great news indeed!!!!!
especially that the team is working like old times and Seth Krnell returns to remodel some cities,
would be excellent to see improved buildings along with the landscape, they must come together!!!
the original minas tirith looks like someone carved it out from marble : ) really hope to see perfected versions of them.
for the buildings, i really suggest making the blue roof back to orange, it seems more medieval-ish this way,
infact this had been suggested a few times by someone on the lotr forum.
would also be nice if more buildings are added to the most cities especially mordor, they look pretty bland,
im also having some issue with the mordor walls, sometime they look purple-ish.
also, not sure u guys r gonna like it or not, but i find the gondor plate armor to be abit too fancy
especially the helmets and stuff. i would really appreciate it if its abit more plain and dull,
much like the movie ones, plus its gonna give better performance
anyway good luck on the mod, if it means waiting longer for it to be more perfected, its perfectly fine!!
however a few more screenshots would be nice, been staring at the old ones for the past month
Now that are some great news! Great that you guys have Seth Krnell back! Cant wait to see some shots of the new cities! It is a true answer, but I do not like to use it.

So how about not releasing an 2.09, and making 2.1 the next patch with all of that?

Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

We are always working for the 2.1 release.
2.09 will be a series of beta patches to include things that we want to test. Although now, we are not sure what exactly will be included or when will be released.
