    Default Campaigns question

    Hi all,

First thanks for the mod just downloaded and starting to enjoy it which seems to have a good medieval atmosphere

    I would have some questions:

    1) a very little issue: in darkage campaign i've seen here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=187756 that ther's should be jerusalem faction but after installing the game i've seen that ther's not ( as it should be cause we are in 888 ad) ...did i make something wrong??

    2) do u know if starting with a faction in darkage u're allowed to pass after than the right time to the next era and so increase number of units playable ? i hope so

    thanks a lot!!

    greets

If your referring to the faction list the first ones are the vanilla faction the new ones are based off. Jerusalem isnt in the Dark age but the crusaders are in the High age.

sorry mate, I'm more concerned on the Renaissance Era...
Anyway, the Darkage is one beta step as the Renaissance Era, SV had made a lot of good things, maybe its better if you are surprised when he will release the 4.0 version^^
And the different kinds of units by faction are some ways to reflect the evolution of the equipements, weapons, clothes...etc
So you don't could have carolingian style's cavalry fighting against knights with healmes...if it was your question.
wow...i appreciate a lot ur kindness

oh good to know...well so than i'll download 4.0 too when it comes out

Well, let's see if i can find some better words...my question started in my mind just after than started a new darkage campaign in which i didn't see many kind of units in specifics building browser evolution. so than i thought that maybe for example we got dark in 880 and early which start in 1080 so i just wondered if when ur dark campaign arrives to 1080 maybe u automatically turn into the next era ( developing new units and buildings)
    thanks a lot

    cheers

    At this point???

"So you don't could have carolingian style's cavalry fighting against knights with healmes...if it was your question. "
Well I hope I'm right about this...
There don't are any limitations from the Darkage to the 1200's??

The Jerusalem faction is being reused as the Kingdom of Lotharingia (Regnum Lotharingiae) in the Darkage.

    This may help:

You should be able to. There is no event instructing you to select a new option on the launcher, but you may do so after hitting 1080.

If you get CTD's, just go back to the darkage menu option.

    [EDIT]

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain The campaign I was thinking of hasn't been released to the public.

The Kingdom of Lotharingia is planned for a future campaign.

thanks a lot for ur reply

yeah, at first i didn't notice that but than i didn't see it in game (Kingdom of Lotharingia)

what about new eras factions?? i mean do they just follow the game develop and maybe at a certain point ( when i turn into the next era) i'm requested to change their name ( i suppose the command do all of that automatically) or some of the new will just comes as emergent factions??

    chhers

    edit: ok ;D

edit: that's why i couldn't find it in the related descr_strat

The menu option you pic on the launcher, will setup the names, etc... for you. (ie. promoting factions to Kingdoms, transforming the Cumans into the Mongols when they are absorbed by the Mongols, etc....)

You have to start in the High Era to see them (Crusader States). I don't believe they're created automatically. Kingdom of Jerusalem is in the High Era and the Kingdom of Cyprus is in Late (and Renaissance, I believe).

    "and Renaissance, I believe). "
Right, but really, the Bourgogne or one turco/mongol faction would be really better to balance the campaign...
Chypre was really moribund while Renaissance(as french oriental Kingdom), protected by the Venetians, they gived their tributes to Mameluks or the Turks.
I had already changed Chypre in Bourgogne, for a potential submod...
The Bourgogne while this Era had the same money rent than France or Venexa, Bourgogne was very wealth(Flanders was the second big economic area after North Italia while this period).
Now I have very complex game of diplomacy between French/Bourguignons/English/Scottish and Hre, same Denmark is concerned sometime!
