    Default Game crashes after destroying a fraction

    As the title says, my game crashes every time i conquer the last city of a fraction, for example Rivendell, which was the last City of the High-elves.
    The game crashes after i decide what i want to do with the conquered City (spare, rob, wipe out (sry, my english is not perfect)). After the decision the game crashes and the error massage is vaguely: "Third age totar war has detected an error and is shutting down."

    Btw i testet version 2.1 and 1.4 and the bug appears at both versions.
    And the Bug has nothing to do with a single fraction being buggy, it also appeared when i played with dwarfs an conquered the last city of the Orcs of Gundabad.

    I have Medieval 2 + Kingdoms (Goldversion) in German, but i installed Medieval 2 directly from the cd setup because in the goldversion setup, where all parts are installed together, i was not able to change the direction where the game should be installed (not :C ^^).

    Every other "Mod/add-on" like Teutonics worked pretty well, without crashes.

    edit: i have win7

    I hope somebody can help me.

    @Lorn,

    Not sure, but I suggest you read this post as well as the posts before and after it.

    Thanks, and no, i haven't read the post before, but i think that my bug, as the author of the link-post says(he is not sure), is another kind of bug.

    I save more than twice every turn, so I can load every turn I want, but it is always the same, the game crashes after destroying a fraction.

    I haven't tried to kill every remaining general and army before conquering the last city, but if that would be the solution I would be annoyed because it is part of my strategy to distract the main armies of the enemy with single cavalry units to conquer all cities, so that the armies become bandits and are no longer problems.

    Maybe i made a mistake with the installing? I installed first Medieval 2 which was already at 1.3, then I installed all 4 Add-ons(kingdoms) and patched them to 1.5 and then I installed TATW 2.0 and patched it to 2.1. (I also installed the German language patch for 2.0 but that was not the problem, because after reinstalling 2.1 totally without it, the bug remained)

    I wonder why nobody else has that problem, because I can't see a difference to the normal way of installing and playing.
    So maybe it has something to do with Windows 7, but I have no idea what that could be.
    Or could it be the cheating(toggle_fow)?

    @Lorn

    Have you disabled UAC before installing TATW?
    You might also try deleting this file: ...\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\kingdoms_grand_campaign_mod\data\world\maps\base\map.rwm first.

    UAC? Don't know what that is.
    Do you mean the thing that I do have to affirm to start the game every time i start it? No, I installed the game not with "administrator" and the add-ons and the Mod also not. Do I need to reinstall all, or just TATW?

    Why should I delete this file?

    Edit: I don't have this file, because my mod folder has 5 folders: americas, british_isles, crusades, teutonic and Third_Age, so there is no kingdoms_grand_campaign_mod folder. Which file should I delete?

    I suggest that you use fix #3 in the above link.

    Why should I delete this file?
    It eliminates some crashes due to corrupt map graphics and campaign information. It will be rebuilt with the correct references if you delete it.

    My mistake, working on two mods at the same time. The correct path should be: ...\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\world\maps\base\map.rwm.

    Ah, I had the same idea, and i changed the Rights for the current user already today, but that hasn't helped.
    I just deleted the file and I'm now going to check if it still crashes.

    Thanks btw for your help and support, in the German TATW community nobody answered.

    Yesssssssssssss, it seems to work, Eriador is no longer.........

    I don't know if deleting the file or changing the rights for the hole medieval II folder fixed it, but now I am happy as (I don't know an English word for that so I just translate it directly) a honey-cake-horse.

    Thank you for your help, God-Sytlix^^
