    Default Temple Bonuses?

Are the bonuses that you get from various temples in XGM cumulative? If so which ones?

For instance, the Gauls can build four temples:

Teutates Temple: 20% Happiness, Weapons +1, Experience +1
Epona Temple: 20% Happiness, Experience +2, Morale +2
Abnoba Temple: 20% Happiness, Weapons +1, Armour +1
Esus Temple: 20% Happiness, 20% Law, trains druids

If I recruit an infantry in a settlement with an Epona Temple, it will start out with Experience +2 and Morale +2. Can I then move the infantry to retrain in a settlement with a Teutates Temple to get Weapons +1 and an additional +1 experiance?

If I recruit an infantry in a settlement with a foundry, can its weapons get upgraded more at a settlement with an Abnoba Temple?

Effects are cummulative up to a point.

Bonuses from foundry and temples stack. Train with foundry, retrain at Teutates to get +3 weapon.

Different bonuses from different temples do stack. Recruit with Epona, retrain at Abnoba to get +2 Exp. and +1 Weapons +1 Armor.

The same bonus from different temples does not stack. If you get +1 Exp. from a temple, you will not get another +1 Exp. from a other temple.
(unless the second temple gives +2 Exp, which simply overrides the +1 bonus from the first temple).

Thank you very much for the speedy reply!!! I like that some bonuses stack. It makes me care more about what and where infantry will be recruited and retrained.

I also got a quick question about retraining or merging depleted units. I have not played RTW in ages so I dont remember which is more effective at keeping a depleted units experience. With AOR what do you do with depleted units? Do you exit them from the stack and move them to the nearest settlement that will allow the unit to retrain? Or do you merge them with your other units?

Retraining is more effective (and cheaper) for retaining experience.

AOR does present some problems in that regard. Some AOR units can only be retrained in a single settlement. So it might not be worth the trouble to send them back for retraining.
Since you will need to get a new set of AOR units when advancing to new regions anyway, retaining experience isn't of much importance with those units.

If you play as a hellenic faction, you can retrain your standard units in the whole mediterrenian and the relevant parts of asia. So unless you are carthage, i don't see much reason to invest heavily in AOR units.

Regarding AOR units, if the area I can recruit them in is limited, I would keep them close to home. At least two turns marches distance when not actively engaged in a campaign.

Hi I have another question about temple-bonuses(retinue). I just wonder if you've reduced/removed the chance of getting the "priest of [temple god]"-retinue? If not; does the special temples such as the one at Siwa or Jerusalem give special retinues?

I don't know about reduced, but there are still priests, for every temple even if its not a native one. I don't think special temples give special retinues because I got a Priest to Melqart at the Trophet of Carthage (which the game considers a trade temple).

Morale bonuses from buildings for troops raised in the settlement does not add to the units morale.

i.e. it don't work that way....however if you are defending said settlement during a siege maybe the bonus is counted.....has anyone been able to test this? is it even testable?

Fix the problem, not the blame!
