Default Turtling in the New World?

Basically, I'm just going to send a ship full of soldiers into the Caribbean-Miccosukee-Fortaleza and turtle there, then kill the Aztecs and wait out the entire campaign. Sound viable?

When you'll be able to ship soldiers off to Americas there won't be much time left in the campaign anyway, so to me that's genuinely pointless.
Unless you mod and make the Americas available sooner, or start there, or tweak the end date, etc.

why?? that seems like a waste of time to me. Unless you are going to wait for the mongols and timmies to take over the world then do an epic re-invasion of the old world. Make sure you post some pics if you do...

It's pointless there, seeing that you can't go there until you the world is round event occurs to build proper ships for it.

You don't HAVE to pay attention to the campaign objectives or kill everyone as fast as you can.

The game isn't necessarily nearly over when the world is round event occurs.

Yeah, but once you´re stuck there, what are you going to do?
I admit it´s an original idea, but it wouldn´t be very fun, just a waste of time actually - just like making the Aztecs playable in Vanilla...

You can continue it only if you complete the victory conditions first and after that one can continue it to eternity, conquer all regions and keep pressing next turn.

You could take the New World, take Rome, and give the New World to the Papacy in exchange for peace. Exile the Papacy! Or any other faction you wish.

Yeah - but it could be fun for testing stuff.

What would happen if you import Aztecs into Europe? What if you kill off the Mongols and Timmies, and then gift them the Americas? I've done that. If you gift the Americas to timmies and mongols, the timmies kick mongol ass and then sit still for about 100 turns and then invade with one stack, capture Britain, and proceed on... if you gift it to Mongols, they lose to the Aztecs. LOL.

You would have to do extensive editing to EDU and EDB to allow the Aztecs to recruit in Europe.
And at any rate the Timurids and Mongols would die off unless you can get them to spawn family members in America. At least with the papal states the pope automatically spawns at the capital.

I'm on turn 240, the Aztecs have taken over Spain and the Moors, I'm the Moors, took all my ships to the New World and rebuilt over there. It's really surprising how powerful the Aztecs have become. France and Russia have allied with the Aztecs. Here's the surprising thing, they have ships now, the Aztecs.

It can be continued indefinitely even if you fail the victory conditions. I know I've turtled as Scotland until 2000, when I got bored of the HRE/Russia stalemate in one campaign.

Hm didn't knew that you can still continue after failing the victory conditions.

You get an option to proceed or end the campaign. The campaign only ends if your faction is destroyed, from my experience.
