Default stranded army on the island of venice

ok so the HRE joined the crusade on antioch by ship, a turn later polish captured antioch
so the HRE army DECIDED to have a rest on the little bit of land next to the island of venice.
10 turns later theyre still stuck theyre right on the coast of the island, not going.

so what do i do, the general is 30 so its going to be a while for him to die out, and he is a pretty good general-meaning good stats and traits that go aganist asassinations-personal security.

btw they are a good ally helping me fight the war against france, so i really cant declare war on them, and about 40 turns before i had to pay the HRE genoa and caligri for a ceasefire.

Build up your defenses and keep a decent garrison of militias in the town. If they attack you them up

i made genoa rebel with spies, then retook it

the problemb is the army is on that little bit of land to the east of venice, and they cant move anywhere without a ship picking them up

Somehow, I get the feeling that the HRE also did the same in one of my games, effectively blockaded Venice with an ex-crusading army, or was that somewhere else?

Here's a possible option, reduce Venice's garrison to a single unit. Tempt the HRE into backstabbing you by attacking Venice, then you're free to educate the unwashed peasants.

Just killŽem , then take back Genoa and Cagliari.
If they want to poke the bear, showŽem that they have poked the wrong one!

You can try to bribe them if you've got a good diplomat, or try to steal the general with a princess. If you want to maintain your alliance then I wouldn't use assassins or spies since their getting caught will cost you good relations.

Ask them to attack somebody. Maybe that way they'll move the army.

Or move some spies to their cities, maybe they'll head over those ones to quell rebellions.

If they're allies they shouldn't cause devastation, even if you don't have right of passage, I imagine they're just irritating

I suppose you can use the move character cheat to boost them out of there.

Well if your relations are good and your allies why move? What better defence for Venice could you ask for then an entire Imperial army?

If you are desperate to move them then.. Oh get into a war by using another army even a unit of peasants, lead the enemys by retreating near your allied army and attack, ally helps gets into war too and maybe that will cause them to move no cheating involved.. Just work.. Bah nevermind get with the console

Build up your forces in Venice, and take advantage of those 50 years to modernize your garrison with armor upgrades, new and better units and so forth, and after 50 years when they finally turn on you, your forces will easily defeat their older army.

    And build cannon towers.
