    Default Zombie Total War

At the moment, we really need a modeler for our mod. It seems hard to get a modeler for our mod, as most people already have something to work on, so please it would be such a relief to stop the search for a modeler. You don't need to be very good at it, we just need to get started with the models,

    what's being worked on;

the 2D, like backgrounds, loading bar and such

    Zombie: Total War

    Story-line 0.3

    Foreword:
A lot of people asked me about what the campaign should be. I decided a time ago that we would do custom factions, but some people were disappointed in this. So I took a look at it again, and tried to solve this problem. I thought about the people who really wanted to have the vanilla factions, and the people who really wanted custom factions. This was mostly the issue in this mod, because everyone wants something else. I came with the solution to make just 2 campaigns, one for vanilla, and one for the custom. I think this mostly solves the problem, as both sides have what they wanted. Of course there's always a disappointment in something, but I hope that I solved it mostly for you guys. This time I will not change the storyline because we can't keep changing it, so major adjustments won't be done. I want to thank every one in this thread for helping with the storyline, and the help they wanted to offer. It is an honor to present to you the campaigns of Zombie Total War.

    The Vanilla Campaign.

    Info:
Well the first campaign in our mod is the vanilla. This campaign is supposed to be as realistic as possible, with just some minor fantasy stuff. Mostly you will find yourself in this campaign fighting with vanilla units, on the vanilla map. In the short term: we only add a zombie faction, and balance the system. Of course this is not the only thing we will do, as we will take parts of some great mods for a good ai, and interesting campaign. This will take us less time to make compared to the custom campaign, and will be a high priority for us. I advise you this campaign if you would like to keep things very realistic.

    The zombie faction:
The zombie faction will be directly in the campaign, so you can play it yourself. Be the maker of death, spread terror and fear, live your dead life to the max, or something like that. The family tree will consist of real names referring to hell, like Baal and Kane. The portraits will be custom for the zombie faction, and will be made by the 2d team. Well what would it be ti start the campaign? Well you start your path of destruction with just on small village somewhere in Europe. Your surrounding villages can be taken, but you have to make your army and such, so it will take some time before you can start expanding. From this position you have to be tactical even with zombies, and I tell you; the zombies won't be like in a arcade game, stoned walking the ground blindly looking for food. These zombies are dead knights, farmers, peasants, archers and more. They will look like that, and will use their weapons. Generals will be the same as the zombies. So what causes this army of the dead? It is of course a virus, called rabies. This is a real possible virus turning you into a cannibal. This outbreak will cause a lot of religious unrest.
The Islam, and Christendom will take up arms to fight this unholy army, so crusades will take a part in this.

    The vanilla faction:
If you play as a vanilla faction you will get a lot of messages of religion, and news that a outbreak is taking over the world. You will have to make your stand, as this virus will catch you anyway. The zombie faction may be far away from you, there are still zombies spawning all over the place (rebels). However, you still have to fight other faction to stay alive, you fight human, and beast. If you can't keep up with the rest, I will fall.

    The campaign:
You have to keep an eye on your religions, as the virus is also presented as a faith. Zombie priests will make people in your homeland undead. For example; Your Castle is for 20% Christian, 30% Orthodox and 50% zombie. A nice feature, that makes a lot of unrest in your settlement if you act wrong. Also rebels will change, rebels spawning will now be zombies, and rebel city's become rare, as the most city's are been taken by European lands, so expanding your empire without getting at war with other faction, will be a lot tougher.

    The battle:
As for the battles, animations will be made, and other tweaks. The zombies will behave human like, armed, marching in a formations, lead by a general and such. The ui will be in a Gothic like style, to make things more dark. Your armies will fear these zombies, and will rout sooner, than fighting humans. As a human faction you will have a disadvantage fighting zombies, because they are in large numbers, and fight human like.

    The Custom Campaign.

    Info:
If you play the custom campaign, you will notice that the map is not Europe, but custom made for this mod, that vanilla units will be rare, and that a lot more fantasy is presented. The zombie faction will be mostly the same, and there will be more custom factions. It is still humans vs. zombies, not magician or dwarf and such because that was never the concept. Humans remain humans, with no magic. As for the zombie faction, they get in the custom campaign more units, skeleton armies, demons and more fictional units. I recommend you this campaign, if you wanted to play a fantasy mod.

    The zombie faction:
The same as the vanilla campaign, but with more units. As this faction will be the part what this mod is about, we keep this mostly the same in both campaigns. This makes things more easy to keep the bug alert efficient.

    The custom faction:
    There will be 6 human factions in this mod. Keep in mind that the ZTW team has to make a lot of custom units for this campaign, compared to the vanilla. So we will keep the factions at the number of 6. The faction's are presented in this list;

    Kingdom of the North Woods:

Basicly a Norman-like faction with loads of units wielding a axe. It's kingdom is surrounded by many forests and lakes, they are not the most powerful faction, and are a easy target for the zombie faction.

    Balain's Land:

A bit Gothic like faction, with a lot of units from the ''high society''. This is one of the most powerful factions, like England, and The Holy Roman Empire. This land is surrounded with big open plains, and rivers.

    Prince Ferrin Land:

Prince Ferrin is the son of King Balain, and gained his own piece of land. He has his own empire, but has a tight relation with Balain's Land. His Land is next to Balain so invading these two would not be easy.

    Third Preagh Empire:

Once a powerful Nation, like the Byzantium's. But now it is falling apart. This empire is split in two, with in the middle about 4 rebel city's that recently were revolting against this empire. Thats why there are still armies of the Preagh's in this area.

    Independent Sebbek

This is a recently emerged faction, with just 2 city's. His armies consist mostly of peasants, but later on it will gain the most powerful armies, if played correctly. It is a bit of a mix of poor farmers and heavy plated soldiers.

    The Kingdom of Pelta Owel

This faction is a bit the same like Sebbek, only that it's armies are in the beginning a lot more powerful, but will not change a lot further in the game, also this faction has a reasonable kingdom, consisting on about 8 city's. This is the recommended faction for players who want to play it on easy, because they fight a lot with the same units,(there's still a big verity though.) so they get to know them more than any other.

    The campaign:
Religion will also play a big part in this game, because of the virus. But there's more, if you succeed getting an alliance against the zombie faction, you will have more chance of survival. The campaign map is dangerous, mountains, sea's, desserts, no-man's land, swamp and more work against you. This map is made to make travel a lot harder. six against one, it looks easy for the six, but keep in mind, that when you reach the zombies home-front, their kingdom is already powerful. Playing as the zombies, you need to build up quickly before you vanish in the early period.

    The battle:
The same rules as for the vanilla, units will be balanced, and the ui will be customized. Also for this we will use some things from some mods, but that remains to be seen.

    Finally:
Well I hope you all enjoyed getting this storyline/preview, and that everything is clear. If you have any questions, just ask them right away and we will help you. If you want to contact me, please do with a pm or post it here. I want to thank ♔keneticpest♔ Sulphuristical Pazu the Kitsune paradamed Col. To Modders' Classified Ads.

Rather than making a 2 line OP you might wanna expand that, show some stuff and tell us about what it has, what it's about and what you can do etc, only then it will attract somebody's attention.

Right i want to throw something into the mix here a storyline, it was an idea i was toying over in my mind so here we go see what you think.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

In the Early 21st Century Global Terrorism became more and more of a problem for many countries. In the middle east a new order began rise one that was far more organised and more importantly had wealthy backers.Investment was made into Bio weapon's and within the space of five years the new dirty bombs were ready. It was on April fools day in the year 2020 that a coordinated attack took place in all the major cities around the world, millions died over the next four years and the world fell in chaos and near ruin.sixty years later and some governments survived but now things were near medieval, technology was dead men fought now with basic hand to hand weapons, fire arms were a rare and expensive thing. And then the dead began to rise and walk the earth, at first it was thought to be a mere superstition but soon proofs were everywhere, and the living dead grew numerous roaming the world feasting on the living creating new denizens to join their ranks.

Right that is the condensed version and i will expand on it if you guys think it is a decent storyline to explain the Zombies in the mod.

No more like the whole world society has gone backwards after a cataclysmic event in this case a bio weapon sixty years previous, but it enables us to use a map of Europe or where ever instead of going down the fantasy map route. This would be convienient as there are a lot of basic maps available to download for modders to use as long as credit is given to the original creator, all we need to do is add the regions faction and so on.

1 Question. How are you going to do the cities?

In a dark age future is it going to look like 'Henrys Quest'? (Graham Oakley). With people using bikes as horses and motorbike helmets and buckets as helmets and street signs as shields or is it going to be back in time so that it actually looks like medieval 2.

This whole thing is for some reason, reminding me of the song "In the Year 2525". That's not a bad thing, as the song is amazing.

Im a little confused as to what the gameplay would be like, like what factions? isnt it humanity vs zombies? are the zombies a faction or are they like rebels? Also is this taking place during medieval times or what?

Theres a link in my sig, go there ang go to 1st post where the info is, there'll be 2 campaigns; vanilla(w/vanilla factions & timeframe) and fictional(the factions is posted there too). Once the zombie faction came, you can choose to side w/ them, this option will trigger unrest in cities, but you can be assured that you are under zombie protection. this is jst a summary, more features will be implemented.
