Error... HELP!

"encountered an unspecified error and will now exit" shows up everytime I engage into the battle field in the campaign mode.
I have reinstalled the game twice. my Medieval II Total war runs fine. Its the Medieval II: Kingdoms that's giving me trouble.
I looked around but it doesn't really help me. I tried this "unpack" thing too but it made no difference(?) from what I see.
I've lowered all my graphics to low but I don't think that's the problem.
Please help. I really want to play this game but none of the campaigns work as they all have the same error by the same cause.

If you used the unpacker did you delete those two files in the data folder? You will have to delete the following files or the game will crash:
data\descr_geography_new.txt
data\descr_geography_new.db

I can't even find those files.... I'm pretty sure I "unpacked all" but i cannot locate those files....

Did you look in %appdata% after you unhide all hidden files and folders in Folder Options?

I found the "AppData" in my "Username" but I don't see any of the files, does this mean that it didn't all unpack?

If you installed in "default" with the UAC enabled, it is in there hidden. Have unhidden everything in Folder Options?

umm it's still bothering me... when I enter the battle.... NOW, when the loading bar is halfway it exits... before it was full load then exit. only when I enter battle through the campaign though. I don't understand what this UAC is. :\ please explain more as I am not tech savvy in anyway whatsoever. Thank you :\

You need to run dxdiag, again, and copy/paste the results here.

Found out what folder they are in, right-click the folder, click properties, and should give you a close count.

I don't know, I saw it around as I was searching for a solution to fix whatever the problem is. I don't even know what unpacking will do. I just want the game to work (get into the battle field through campaign). I've went into it with the America campaign but not for the other three.

Disable the UAC.

Turn your monitor down to 1024 x 768, delete the medieval2.preferences.txt, and start a new campaign.

UAC stand for USER ACCount Control.
