to open it you'll need two things. the Pack File Manager (pfm), get a NTW one, and a spreadsheet program, either excel or open office calc (it needs to be able to open .tsv files)

then use the pfm open the unit pack compability project6.3.pack (or similar)in your dmuc data folder, and click the export .tsv button. save it somewhere, edit it, use thepfm's import .tsv function, save it, and voila.

im sorry, you cant combine the two becuse they are both seperate startpos, the only way would be to mod my minor factions startpos yourself, using this http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=272139, to make emergents playable in that

Cheers Cap. I did it another way actually by using PackFileManager_1-12, cloning the relevant religious building entries and just changing the names as you described. I've done the above method when I've played about with NTW and it's a bit more complicated than how I've just managed it with ETW. Cheers!

Woah, a million thanks mate! Now I can finally start conquering in Europe and take Tunis from those damn Barbary States. I won't bother with the names bug, because I don't want to screw up something else. Also The Cap, if it isn't too much trouble for you, upload a fix for these church bugs so that idiots like me don't screw up their game and rage afterwards.

if i knew how to do it and i had time, i would give it a try. so i might do it in the future.

however, tarm seems like he's cracked it, so if you maybe butter him up, he'll maybe do it, and i'll back him fully on this thread if he wants to upload here or link to it in BIG letters if he puts it elsewhere

    Hi all,

If you don't fancy modding the churches back in directly you can use this instead. Firstly unzip the churches.pack file and put it into your data directory. Add "mod churches.pack;" without the quotes to the top of the user script and, fingers crossed, it should work.

This will add religious buildings to Mexico, Quebec and Columbia. I'll add more factions if people ask me too.

Note that this won't give you the names of the churches, I'm not sure how to make a stand alone little mod file for that yet...

    Cheers

    hi Tarm,

    this is good stuff

for the names,id recommend just uploading a snippet of spreadsheet, that people can copy/paste into the .loc themselves, as uploading a whole new one may cause compatability issues with other mods that effect names etc.

also, do you want me to post your mod onto the front page with the rest and advertise it in BIG letters for all to see and download (with your name in suitabley BIG and UNDERLINED letters?

Well I'm not too sure on the whole .loc, spreadsheet and TSV file thing but I think I've done what you suggested and I've attached my church entries.

Yep, if it'll help others out, I'm more than happy for you to put my files on the front page!

I don't know if anyone's interested but I've played around with the startpos and regions files for the Quebec, Mexico and Columbia campaigns. Basically, I've added admiralties to the homelands of Quebec and Mexico and the region to the right of Columbia. It does my head in that there are so few admiralties as I always like to build a navy so I thought I'd fix it myself!! If anyone's interested I could upload them too??

Thinking about it, I've also made up some unit rosters for the three campaigns already mentioned and Scotland. I could bundle that together with the church fix to make another pack if you like? Obviously I've done this to suit my taste but if you fancy some more interesting units you could give it a go?

    Good Work!

The extra admiralties startpos' are a great idea, you put them up here and i'll organise them up onto the top screen, also if you do both do packs seperate (units&churches) people can make up their minds what they want, although you could put up 3 (mixed as well as seperate)

although at this rate you'll probably have more mods on this page than me and it'll be Tarm's emergent's thread

    Cheers Cap,

Here are the modded startpos and region files for Mexico, Quebec, Scotland and Columbia. After making the relevant back ups, place the Regions file in data>campaign_maps>global_map and the startpos file in data>campaigns>DMUC_Umain

I'll try and have a play around with the other files later

I had found a mod just like this before but the Mamelukes had a problem since they where the protectorates of the ottomans they could not go to war or make allies with other factions even after going to war with the ottomans. So I was wondering if you had fixed that in this mod?

yep, this is fixed, the mamelukes are not a protectorate, but are allied and trading with the ottomans.

    hello there,

try knocking down your government building and replacing it with a military governors baracks. or build it up to a Royal Palace as that definately has line infantry avaliable.

Tried that, still couldn't recruit anything but militia/cavalry. Even got a region from Russia (komi) and i couldn't recruit anything from there either.
    Thanks anyhow

When you say, "To Install, simply copy and paste the new startpos over your original startpos, CJA recommends backing up your original startpos before installing the new one here" What do you mean over the original startpos?

I'm an idiot when it comes to computers, please help.
