    That makes no sense.

Can we try to implement the boiling oil pouring down on the head of the attackers like in Rome Total War? I love this one. Whe I first fought the Seljuk against their siege engines, I expected oil to be poured down on the battering ram, yet nothing came out from behind the gate. Later I discover that the easiest way to eliminate all those annoying horse archers, is to open the gate first before the ram reaches it, then the AI will rally all of their horsemen through the gate. As the horde flocks into that hellway, I amass all of my general bodyguard and heavy infantry to enter a fierce close quarter, after which it is quite certain that they are all perished. But isn't it better to have oil to facilitate the butchering business?

doesn't the burning oil feature require kingdoms to work?

Yes so it seems this task is very hard then?
But it is unrealistic to not have this feature, on the other hand, the team shall have to decide to migrate BC3 to Kingdom, which is also a daunting task.

I think we should check the Turkish Sultanate, it expands very quick in early several turns, even with new EDU. Perhaps this is history???
Should there be some differences between the Turkish Sultanate and the Great Seljuk?

we should also check makuria because its too passive and it expands very slowly

in real history when genghis khan arrives kwharezm lands shah Muhammed was alive so do his son Celaladdin (menguberdi) but in the mod when i played with Khwarezm, Shah Muhammed dies so early and even Celaladdin dies before the mogols arrive so there is a timing problem about this. when the mongols arrive shah Muhammed must be alive and the faction leader (ofcoruse if we dont let him die in a battle) and his son Celaladdin must be alive too and be the faction heir.
By the way Celaladdin's nick name(i dont know the right word for this in english) shouldnt be "mengiburni" which means "nose with mole" in Turkish, it must be "menguberdi" which means like "given by god, given by the endless power" because mengu means holly endless in turkish and that was his real nick name. Turk rulers always used this kind of nicks for themselves like "tengri berdi" (given by god) "kut almısh" (got holyness from god) so the real nick name is menguberdi not mingiburni. this is just the reading mistake of a Russian historian. thanks.

Ha! Those nick names are quite different from each other! What a diplomatic nightmare it would be to have called him mengiburni by accident.

If at all possible, I would like to see some way for hidden resources to be acquired.
Let me rephrase that. All of the aor recruitment zones are determined by hidden resources. Thus, you can recruit your core troops in your native lands, but not in lands far away from yours.

I think a script should be implemented in which, after you meet some special requirements, your factions hidden resources can appear in territories that are normally outside of your factions' normal recruitment zone, thus allowing you to recruit your core troops, theoretically allowing you to recruit everywhere after some time consuming and expensive processes.

1.adding al mansura is a good suggestion (louis the saint has been imprisoned in Dar Ibn Luqman after the mamluks of Najm Al Din Ayyub defeated his army in the battle of mansoura 1258)
2.i suggest adding al musta'sim to the family tree of the abbasids because he will be the last abbasid caliph in baghdad.
3.also adding some important cities like (Kufa (center of the heretical shia faith) - Tarsus (one of the most important cities in anatolia) - also the city of Nisibin.

    To answer your questions:

Tarsus is already in BC 2.02.
al Musta'sim was not yet around in 1174.
Same thing with al Mansora too.

Something needs to be done about the Turks. In my current game, they wiped out Georgia and Armenia, seized all of Anatolia, sacked Constantinople, and conquered the Levant. They're on the verge of victory. And it's all because they send endless stacks of cheap light infantry to kill entire empires in a few turns.
