The Battle of Lodi(My first video commentary) (Part 2 up)

Hmm! Interesting.

I've played and won this battle a few times, but I have a much different approach to you and I was interested to see how you were going to do it.

My own approach is pretty unsophisticated, and basically involves rushing the bridge with everything. Its results in a huge mess, massive casualties and usually the loss of all my artillery in the process. I also have to make all my units 'run' to pull it off, which is a personal 'no-no' as far as Im concerned normally as its so unhistoric, but in this instance its necessary because the AI always does it anyway.

I normally lose a lot of units in the area around the bridge approaches, and often have to sacrifice my grenadiers to make a heroic stand to block the bridge approach roads. But usually my cavalry get across and manage to track down and kill the enemy general before he can escape, then its just a matter of salvaging whats left of my army and blocking the bridge and river crossings.

Adter that its payback time as the Austrian's try to storm the river crossings against the survivors of my army.

Your approach is much more measured and I'm getting really nervous watching all those Austrians filing over the bridge in the background. I'm interested to see what happens in part 2, as it looks to me like your losing at the minute.

Your accent can be a bit difficult to understand at times but not enough to be a big problem, your probably easier to understand than some Scotsmen and Irish I know

However, I did notice that you repeatedly use the wrong term for moving your artillery. When guns are moved they are 'Limbered' or 'Limbered-Up', they are only 'Unlimbered' when they are about to be fired. It caught me off guard the first time you said it, but after I realised what you meant it I quickly adjusted my interpretation of what you were saying and it made sense.

You're not alone on the accent part, I myself was having trouble understanding lol. Probably due to the crappy mic and me being nervous when recording audio.

And thanks for clearing the artillery terms, looks like I mistook their meanings

Congratulations!

Only one mistake which almost cost you your infantry, but you recovered well. I must admit I think your brave doing the whole thing in real-time. I think if I was to try anything similar I would want to record the battle first and then dub in the commentary. Assuming thats possible of course.

It was interesting to watch anyway. Hopefully you will get a few more comments from other members.

Pff his english is pretty good, i think you didnt have much pratice with foreign english speakers lol
