despising all injustices and ingratitudes if he has one major failing it is in being too trusting of his fellow senators.
He has also been labelled a demagogue for some of his inflammatory speeches
on his ascent to being a senator

Renius, i just wanted to come and say hello to the newest senator of ours! I am quite surprised also, because i did not see your application to the senate in Campus Martius. Flavius was still smiling. But enough of that, friend. I am sure that it is delayed or you have forgotten to do it. Honestness is in your eyes, i can see it. I have taken some free time of my work; so let us use it well! Is it not too much asked if you could introduce me to your house and it's rules and habitants?

Renius gritted his teeth feeling that he was being baited by the young patrician knowing full well that his name was added to the senatorial rolls before this one who seemed to be full of the self importance that so many patricians displayed

of course senator would you care to join me in my tablinum where we can discuss things in a more private manner

without waiting for an answer renius led the way through the atrium to his tablinum signalling to a slave to have refreshments brought in

as you can see i have only recently moved in. I am still in the process of redecorating and i still need to start my business in the taberna. But there are many monopolies within Rome it will be difficult to start a new business. I thought i might rent it out to some one of decent stature

Of course i am married, Renius my friend. My wife is Volcacia Quintilla, and we were married last year. Flavius was thinking of how has he not seen this man before, but still he claims to be a senator. A simple solution came to his mind: "He just might be an older member of the Senate of Rome." "He probably was ill, and he could not come to the senatorial meetings..", he thought while lifting his cup and taking a draft. What about you, Renius? Are you married?

recently divorced i dont want to go into details it is still painful but my i still have my son its only for his sake that i have let her live

Why does anyone enter politics but to make a name for himself so that he does not become forgotten after his allotted time.

Indeed, Renius! But for some cases, men do it to sacrifice themselves for their country, to then feel proud and satisfied when he dies; and not caring of does his name remain in the history or not.

flavius if there is one truth i know of in this world there is no such thing as a selfless act even you for example within the curia today with the suggestion that you should be sent to help relieve the siege at Dyrrhachium you cant tell me that you did that too simply sacrifice yourself for our great republic. No you suggested it to further your career the fact that it serves the republic is a pleasant by product of our search for glory think on my words before you answer you know it to be true.

Maybe i am taught to believe the heroic tales, but i myself am concerned of Rome and her beautiful city, although you are right. I want to feel the joy of battle, feel the cheers after a victory! I miss my career as a soldier, Renius, and i would do anything to have back this lost joy. My vote stands for Yay, Renius. I feel that the tribunate office is too powerful for how it is now.
