Broken Crescent Issues
Hi, I installed broken crescent on my computer. I can get the program to start and I can get to the grand campaign selection menu, and when I select a faction and hit "start" it loads the cinematic. HOWEVER right after that I get an error message and the game crashes.
I did not install the game quite as directed, because whenever I try to create the new option using the kingdoms launcher editor tool, I get a message that tells me that permission was denied to perform that action. So instead, I renamed the folders so that the broken crescent folder is instead renamed "crusades", which is how I got the 3rd age mod to work.
Does the mod try to call on files specifically from the "..../mods/Broken_Crescent/broken_crescent" path? Is that why I'm having issues?

Re: Broken Crescent Issues
What version of game are you playing as in original, Gold Edition, Steam?
What version of Windows?
Broken Crescent is not a Kingdoms mod. It uses medieval2.exe.

Re: Broken Crescent Issues
Firstly thank you for the rapid reply and that clarification:
I am using windows 7 (I have taken ownership of the folder though), I am using Steam version. So I take it that I should NOT be treating BC as a mod and keeping the data file in there, but I should be using it to replace or merge with the data file in the main medieval 2 folder?
I would also like to add, when I pasted the data file into the main medieval folder and did all the merge stuff, the program doesn't work at all

Re: Broken Crescent Issues
For one, You may also want to disable the UAC if not done so.
For two, verifying your game cache integrity to get your vanilla campaign back.
For three, it would be advisable to post this info in BC's forum and let them give you their best on BC and Steam.
