By the way, does the Tool (custom settlement stuff) allows editing standard buildings, so neither the elves nor the orcs will have catholic churches in their minor settlements? And if it does, does anyone knows if it is being worked on besides custom settlements?

Some work is being done on changing the generic settlements (off the top of my head theres King Kong, Dazo and leo.civifuls (or something like that) working on them) However it will take a while to get it all done.

Edit: Actually on second thought i think that leos working on custom settlements and Dazo is just making singular buildings which king kong and others will hopefully use. In the next patch though kk will release new generic settlements for one faction so lets hope that comes out soon

Whats the problem of orcs having chatolic churches? Middle Earth is a relgion free place. Stop with religion intolerance.

By the preview you can see that they are working on minas tirirth, the hornburg, isengard and moria. Basically the most important settlements where battles occur. There is also another guy (forgot his name) working on barad dur. There was also a surprise settlement preview. It looks like the shire to me but who knows.

I think KK also said that they are working on changing settlements. I think in particular the ones they will work on are elves and orcs as they are the most lore-inaccurate to use massive stone castles and such. Dwarves and harad/rhun can get away with it where as rohan/gondor/eriador works well with it.

I just think it's a shame shogun 2 is coming out so soon after all this amazing work began.

Third age will always be the best medieval 2 mod of time. I think the devs will keep working on it even after shogun 2 is released. I'm just saying with shogun 2 having full mod capabilities it would be possible to create a mod even better than this one (purely out of the fact that the m2tw engine is so restricted).
Just imagine what kind of third age mod could spawn out of shogun 2 with KK and his team taking it up. I'd pay full price for that but alas it's not legal.

How naive of you thinking STW will be fully modable. Even if it can be modded we will face many problems. First a full conversion takes like 2 or more years at least to be created. Second: people will take some time to learn how to mod Shogun 2 (considering it will be modable). As mentioned in the forums it looks like SHogun wont support mod tools. Besides TATW in the M2TW engine is cool enough for me.

From what I heard shogun 2 would have full mod capabilities.. Don't know where I heard it or when but it was probably on these forums.

multicore support and no hardlimits on unit size....

but i really doubt that SEGA aims to launch something mod friendly...they think play shogun 2 then buy the next title...dont mod ...modding is evil

I believe I'm right in saying that ETW was very bad for mod accessibility, hence why there are no full conversion mods for it such as TATW. I see no reason why S2TW would be any different.

TW S2 wont have mod support as its being designed in binary format, or something along that line. The game isnt being build with mods in mind, so no aspect of the game will be at all mod freindly
