Okay, so I'm about a month away from my custom build. Problem is I'm not sure which video card to get: A Gigabyte GTX 570 1.5gb or a Sapphire Radeon 6970 2gb. Please help me out here.

which one is cheaper?

Most benchmarks I've seen have the 570 and 6970 about equal. I guess it comes down to what you like more, amd or nvidia. Since I'm probably a nvidia fanboy I'd go with the 570, but if youre upgrading your system for Shogun2 you might want to go with the 6970 since it's recommended by CA in their system requirements. Also I believe the 570 only has 1.25gb of mem.
EDIT:
Minimum Specs (Required for playing Total War: Shogun 2):
* 2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor / 2.6 GHz Intel Single Core processor , or AMD equivalent (with SSE2)
* 1GB RAM (XP), 2GB RAM (Vista / Windows7)
* 256 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card (shader model 3)
* 1024×768 minimum screen resolution
* 20GB free hard disk space
Recommended Specs (Recommended for optimum game play of Total War: Shogun 2):
* 2nd Generation Intel® Core™i5 processor (or greater), or AMD equivalent
* 2GB RAM (XP), 4GB RAM (Vista / Windows7)
* AMD Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series graphics cards or equivalent DirectX 11 compatible graphics card
* 1280×1024 minimum screen resolution
* 20GB free hard disk space

HD 6950 and unlock it. No point in throwing good money away.
I'm going to have to vote for the GTX570. I own 2. Best video cards I've ever had, plus they offer better DX11 tessellation and Nvidia's drivers are easier to use for custom game settings.

Yeah looking at benchmarks, reviews etc, I think I'm going to go for the 570. Most of the time it Manages the beat the 6970 with the 6970 managing to close the gap in a few of the benchmarks. They're roughly the same price, so why not? Btw before my decision is finalized, mind telling Me what unlocking is?

Unlocking a 6950 would involve flashing a different BIOS onto it to "unlock" the shader cores that are disabled. The 6950 and 6970 are physically the same cards with different BIOS's. After unlocking the card you could then increase the clocks to match the 6970 if you wanted identical performance.
Ishan mistakenly thought you said "overclock" as that is what he defined.

In simple terms running the car in 5th gear etc that is running the card on higher clock rates.![]()
While this thread is being noticed, Does anyone here have a Coolermaster HAF 932 case? I've heard good things about and also bad things about it, but want to here the opinions of people here who have it. So is it any good? Are there any good alternatives in the same price range?

I don't know anyone in the basement here that has that case... it is certainly a very popular gaming chasis, no doubt about that. Another case you might consider: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129087

The BIOS flahing is safe on these 69XX cards as they have two BIOS's so if it goes pear shaped you cvan switch to the back up BIOS. As well as unlocking the cores you need to up the clocks as well to 6970 speeds but that's noyt a problem either since its the same chip.
i like my server case, the 1200![]()

I think I'll just get the HAF 932 and get some dust filters for it.

I think you might want to check out the Raven 02 from Silverstone as well.
