I remember looking at this picture a while ago before i got medieval 2. Is it just me or does this screen shot look better that medieval 2??

Everything looks darker and there seems to be a greater variation of armour and weapons. The mounted knight on the left is wearing studded leather and there are armoured spearmen with circle shields and the terrain and surroundings look a whole lot better aswell

What confuses me is the Dimounted Feudal Knights with round shield and spears...
From a mod, maybe?

I would also suggest people to check out some pre-release "screenshots" of RTW, some of them contain armies of sizes we could never reach with the engine. Funny thing on those pictures with huge armies as well, is the fact that there's no UI present.

sigh i really wish that games didnt do that release screenshots of what they will put in but never do i dont care if you are rushed to hurry and finish the game they always cut out the good stuff

Late in the game you can recruit Dismounted Frankish Knights as a mercenary. Correct me if I am wrong, but they're there, if not check your Export Descr Units and add em in. They're basically a Dismounted Feudal Knight with a spear.

Are you sure you're not talking about the Dismounted Crusader Knights? They totally different

As I just checked vanilla I they have to be modded in, as I did in my modded Retrofit. They're there just add them to the descr_mercenaries beside the Frankish Knights and they're recruitable

Retrofit + GUAM adds them into the game.

Dism. Frankish knights aren't the unit mentioned earlier, which had a round Norse shield, not a kite shield.
