    Default Advantage to starting late?

Hi, I've put about 70 hours into SS so far and I was wondering, I've played a late era campaign as HRE (Was half way to doing the win conditions then updated). Is there any other advantages for late era other than what basically is a "quick start"? Do the troops available differ at all? For example I was looking through the building browser for poland and noticed the strongest troop they get from the barracks line at fortress level is light men at arms? I'm playing with RR off btw. If I picked the late era would I expect to have better choice of units?

The choice of units does not differ between the early and late era campaigns. You just get to the late units quicker.

And some few of your roster units will become obsolete earlier.

You should also see Dismounted Men-at-arms (for Poland)

If you're playing 6.3 disable RR is broken unless you use this:

Better yet, update to 6.4. Disable RR works in it.

Thanks for the replies, think I'm gonna try and do the polish campaign, make a quick grab for rebel settlements and turtle it if that's even possible with HRE and lithuania at my doorstep, not worried about hungary, I'll keep em sweet

Yeah I thought it was weird zwei handlers taking 4 turns to make as HRE, I updated to 6.4 a couple of days ago.
