Best winning streaks

In an effort to discuss...well, something relevant, I pose this simple question. What is your best winning streak 1) Overall 2)with any single faction ?

I ask because I am a bit bored but also it's all I could think of that I could have a somewhat good answer for (as I am not a consistently active player online).

So my answer is 1) About 10 straight wins that I can remember, most battles were cwb rules with 15k (a few with 10k). 2) Carthage, at least 9 wins in a row on cwb/15k (also a few 10k). So far this streak hasn't been broken but I also have not played in a while.

hmm, before i joined a clan and started playing with good players my winning streak probably was pretty good. i used to play with scythia quite a bit with 15K with no rules, which meant although i had a good army everyone else brought artillery or cheap tactics that never worked.

more recently however i have played alot with carthage and Pontus on 15k CWB, and i seem to do well with both, although i dont keep track of numbers of wins and losses. Pontus seems especially effective because lower level clan people and the general clanless dont seem to know how to counter the chaz archers and skirmish tactics. Although after playing lots of battles like that and then playing someone who does know how to counter is not as fun

The best I ever did was a 58 win streak last April, about 75% with Macedon in all sorts of battles with all money levels and rules. Of course this was back after I'd just left HELL and was during my limbo before joining HoS. Sure I played a bunch of clannies too, but easily half of them were against clanless, so I don't consider it too magnificent, rather a streak of luck with padding. Otherwise, I commonly have between 5 and 20 depending on how many quality players I encounter. My best single faction was with Macedon in a "10k CWB large" binge: 22 before I got sick of it and played Pontus.

I guess in fairness I should add that most of my battles in my Carthage streak were non clannies. I did however have a 2v2 match included in that streak where a friend and I beat a Pontus-Brutii team as Carthage-Scipii.

All the rest assuming of course the people I played were not aliased. I am not active enough to know clans anyways. Alls I can says is I wons.

yea, idk why but the first like 10 2v2/3v3 games i played that were HELL internals i always ended up on the winning team, im not sure why that happens, especially since all i usually do is pick carthage, be irrelevant to the skirmishing, become forgoten, phalanx charge, and completly destroy the person infront of me

(there was actually this really funny 3v3 were the person infront of me was microing his skirmishers on one side of the battle and slowly started to move his pikes to the other side, and when they got close to me i just rushed forward and killed them since my pikes were better and attacking them from their sides. I dont think his allies thought it was funny though tongue: )

Well I don't have many stories of anything too similar but first thing that comes to mind is a match I did as Carthage against Parthia. I brought my army of mostly pikemen (I know, a stupid move against Parthia...but I did win this) with a medium force of cavalry and slingers. He had as many cataphracts, archers, and slingers as he could get his hands on (barely within the rules). My cavalry was able to maneuver quite well and rout about half of his archers/slingers early on but eventually they tired and the cataphracts caught up to and routed them. So I was left without cavalry and only substandard slingers and my good pikemen.

I made a mistake not moving my infantry around enough though while my cavalry were distracting his guys. So I got into a situation where I was surrounded and was forced into a noob box...a decision I really regret to this day

Well, he poured on the arrows into the back of my lines, but because his missile troops took a beating from my cavalry, they were slow at breaking my lines, and his cavalry were tired. I kept him from making a point to break through for a good few minutes of this, but eventually he got a chance to charge through.

However, he didn't expect my counter-move, which was simply grouping all my remaining men together (mostly sacred bands at this point) and holding off from there. Managed to destroy his cavalry and he even charged his archers in. Sacred Bands pulled through though and won the day. Though just barely.

Battle full of mistakes but a victory is a victory.

i once tried to break a three digit one.. i reached 98 with armenia VS clans only(but mostly HELL) before i got stuck playing a 2v2 vs a few russians with a Sith clan recruit.

That game was an epic buzzkill. the annoying part was that i could not blame him for the battle as he was merely a new recruit and a former TWC modder and we all know what that means in MP terms, but he did ruin my 100 vics in a row goal. since then i cant be ed doing that.

A shame...100 as Armenia would have been awesome to have on the record.

I only do 2v2 with people I know, and so far, it has worked fine. In RTW and M2TW. Makes communication a bit easier I think.

Gotta hand it to one friend of mine too, he is good at being a dick to prove a point or two when he wants to. In our 2v2 against the Pontus-Brutii team he faced off against the Brutii (As Scipii). Brutii had the not so surprising army of urbans, praetorians, etc., and my friend charged (not literally) with a pre-marian focused army and got him into a stalemate, eventually being broken when I sent a mere unit of pikemen as support.

When i was younger (around year 10 i think) there was a kid in my school who brought a machete to a fight (and a rusty one at that) LOL

that is very off topic but quite a sensitive one to me as my father was almost killed by a man who hacked my dads skull with a machete.. theres some mindless people in the world

Well luckily he didn't get to use it as the fight was cancelled, and I'm pretty sure he was expelled soon after. But I think he mostly brought it for the intimidation.

well 98 VS clans only with Armenia is not bad either but 100 woulda been sweet. still when it comes to rome there are far better things one can do than merely killing everyone, like winning tournaments n stuff, which most guys prefer to invest their talent in, while i decided to train new people instead. Someone has to do it.

I would have done the latter simply because I am not one for tournaments. Even avoided them in Halo PC which...well, you know me.

I will however be happy just to reach 10 straight wins with Carthage here. Or maybe it past that already...I really should check those replays.

how the hell can you guys count on how many wins streak youve had..? i smell however i remember playing for my old clan some years ago and went on about about a month spree of not losing

and max how the hell could you of won 98 times without losing with my favourite faction...

Well, it's pretty easy for me... I save all my replays, so I just opened my replay folder and looked for the longest listings of W's.

I counted my replays as well. Early on I won with just three factions:Rome, Seleucid, and Carthage. Not much different these days, though I have grown partial of Armenia.

i wouldnt call it a streak by far, but i've had roughly about a 8-10 win streak over the course of the last 6 months in which i only played about 8-10 games
