BI broken

FoE 1.4 works very well, and is an enjoyable mod I must say. However, needing more space on my C drive I removed the mod and decided to play vanilla BI again, there was the problem. Since then I've only managed to successfully play it twice, each time after installing the game fresh, after which every time I try to restart an old or begin a new campaign I get a CTD, every single time. Can you guys help? I'm on Vista by the way.

So, you completely removed all files of RTR and RTW+BI, made a fresh install, and then it crashes when you play and try to load that game? Does it give any error message when it CTD's, and where did you install your game? Vista might cause some problems because when you manually delete the game folder you'll forget part of it which is located in a 'virtual store' by the UAC system. When all conventional issues have been ticked off we should maybe look into that possibility as well.

windows cannot identify the problem, and yes I made a clean sweep. also, I twice started a new campaign, played each game once, upon the reload it always crashes

What you should try is the following:

Go to your Control Panel, folder options and then click 'show hidden folders and files' or sth like that.

Then go to C:/users/(your username)/Appdata/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/...

And there you'll see a 'The creative assembly' folder. Delete this one as well when you remove the game, or do so through the windows application for removing software in the control panel, that is probably the best way to try it. Make a fresh install, and then try it again. When this doesn't work I don't know what's the matter either
