Adherbal's decision to leave

I know it has been discussed in the MTW2 topic, but seeing as that's closed this will be the official topic now:

It's sad to see you go Adherbal....CTW is probably the most anticipated mod of the TW community.....it sure was for me. I was there from day one. Longer than most of the current team members. You worked your way from a single thread to a whole Forum. Don't give up now. You've gone to far to turn back.

Always sad to lose another modder. And Adherbal was one of the best. Glad to hear the team is carrying on. I would echo others in asking for him to return, but if he has decided that leaving is best for him, a return brought about by the community, and not himself, would likely mean he would not be as interested or happy with doing the work. So I will simply say, sad to see you leave this project Adherbal, hope the future holds the best for you.

Good luck Adherbal, maybe after a while of being retired you will get the itch for the spotlight and excitement of modding again!

A shame but a logical decision their is no point with MTW2 coming through.
He will no doubt start a mod crew for this and all the old crew will join him - like me

To the rest of the Chivalry team, I hope you guys get everything sorted out. I'm really looking forward to this mod.

Might I bring up the suggestion that maybe this mod be eventually ported over to MTW2? To correct the historical inaccuracies and mistakes CA/SEGA are bound to make. Either way I'd love to this mod completed before then. Never got a chance to play the original MTW and ws looking forward to this to replace it.

The current mod team doesn't have the abilities, and at this stage we don't know if any of our work can be ported. We're going to release what we can as soon as we think it's good enough then see how we go from there :original:

We are fortunate enough to see this great mod will be continued. Some ppl at some forums make it seem like it's the end, good thing these fellows are seriously mistaken.

Infact, I'm still waiting for the Hungarian, Cuman, Bohemian previews.

Good bye and fairwell, you will be missed, please stay in touch! :-) I am not surprised though, with the crappy problems in BI and porting and now the release of M:TW2 just kinda puts the last nail in the coffin so to speak. Lets hope they do M:TW2 right so we can enjoy it with only MINOR modding. lol aND THOUGH IT HAS SOME NICE FEATURES, I dont think M2 will be worth porting RTW over to either, to much work with too little results. Shame they couldnt have done RTW better. I bet the may have sea battles in M2. but we will wait to see.

I for one won't stop playing RTW mods anytime soon, and the MTW2 release won't stop that. Hell I still crank up MTW for some XL mod or Napoleonic action every once in a while! Cant always play RTR, EB, SPQR, or BI.

And yes my total war folder is huge (almost 20 gigs, over 100,000 total files) and it will get bigger when I eventually add Chivalry and Blue Lotus.

in a way i wish CA had done some crappy fantasy mod so that Adherbal wouldn't have left... chivalry tw has opened my eyes to what can be modded in rtw along with rtr and eb... i wish him good luck though because ntw is one of my other favourite mods

If you die, Adhebal, can I have your pocket watch? Either way though, your legend will continue on. And when the memebers of this community buy MTW2, and realize how ahistorical it is, we'll see YOU on the developing team!

thanks for the kind words guys

you make it sound as if I'm dieing or leaving, but I'm not. I'm just officialy putting an end to my work on Chivalry. Instead I will do some easier (text editing/scripting only) work for NTW2. Prometheus also joined the NTW2 team and together we can probably give those guys the help they sorely need.
And who knows, after a public beta of NTW2 has been released I might feel like doing some work for Chivalry again, especially if the remaining team proves they can do without me.

As for porting it to MTW2, I don't see that happening. The units in MTW2 are much more detailed and there are like 4 different models in a unit. That means it'll be a LOT more work to match the graphical quality of the origininal game. Besides, unless it has perfect MP and very good AI I won't be getting anywere near that game.
