    Default How do I "cut out" units?

    I want to start a campaign, where there are no siege equipment IE Ballista, catapults, mangonels, trebuchets, etc. How do I make it so that no one can recruit them? I'd much rather not just delete them from EDU.txt

    What could I do with this unit?

    Open up the EDB.
    Find the recruitment lines for ballistas, or whatever other unit you want to remove, (there's quite a few lines). Here's an example:
    recruit_pool "NE Ballista" 1 0.15 2 0 requires factions { england, scotland, france, hre, denmark, spain, aragon, portugal, milan, venice, papal_states, sicily, norway, jerusalem, teutonic_order, }
    Then comment out all those lines by placing a semi-colon in front of them:
    ;recruit_pool "NE Ballista" 1 0.15 2 0 requires factions { england, scotland, france, hre, denmark, spain, aragon, portugal, milan, venice, papal_states, sicily, norway, jerusalem, teutonic_order, }
    Ballistas are now impossible to recruit.

    Comment out siege works so AI factions dont waste money on them.

    Not save-game compatible.
    You can't comment out buildings that have already been built.

    Maybe just reduce their cost and construction time to next to nothing so the the AI doesn't waste money or time building them.
