Default How can make my settlements grow fast?

Obviously I need to build farms and bakerhouses (with the additional buildings sub-mod) I heard Chivalry increases settlement growth too, if that is true, how do I make my generals really chivalrous?

Anymore tips to increase growth is much appreciated too!

to get more chivalry, release prisoners, never continue battle after pop up, only occupy settlements, build tourney fields and send them into that castle, join crusades ,if you're the one to conquer the crusade target you get more bonuses obviously but just by entering you gain some chivalry and piety points or so I think.
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

Start wars with far away nations that have no chance of reprisal and beat the hell out of their forces and release prisoners, never sack a town, crusade or jihad if you have that option, Pagans and Orthodox don't, low taxes can help, it helps if you get at least 1 chivalry to start, that can make a world of difference, certain town titles have chivalry in them: Novgorod, Syracuse, Iraklion, Thorn, Valencia, and that town south of Baghdad, can't remember it's name, I think there may be 2-3 more, but I can't think of them now. I can get native citadels by turn 50-60 if I don't have to move my generals much or they survive that long, of course I'm building farms and not barracks though... totally defeating their current purpose.

You can continue battle, just release the prisoners after it's over

Yes, you're right, not in 6.4, but then I didn't realize this was for 6.4, sorry.

descr_settlement_mechanics.xml is the file you want found in SS6.3\data folder.
A good tutorial that will teach you how to lay with it.

I had to edit that and remove the random plague. I got it four times before turn 60 because of the increased squalor

How about chasing routed units before the battle ends and pup-up asks to continue or not? I always let routed units get away (and often regroup), in fear of my general losing chivalry points. Is it only after the pup-up has come up? And is it OK to chase them if I release them? If so, what is the point of chasing them?

    EDIT:
Also, if a very chivalrous general gets the trait "winning first", does that mean I can just attack any small army without fear of him losing chivalry, as he has already acquired this trait, or will it accumulate? Can I make him lose this trait and get back chivalry points?

Chase them down and ransom them for chivalry. Or release for chivalry also.

If it's over 1000 gold and more than 50 soldiers, ransom them. If it's over 50 people but under 1000 gold, release. you will get chivalry either way. If it's under 50 people you can execute with no negative effects. You will not get chivalry releasing or ransoming if it's under 50 people.

It will accumulate. I don't think you can remove it with your actions. Fair fighter is it's anti-trait so you can't get one if you have the other.

I didn't notice the difference in pop. growth in the new version. On top of that, the new bakery buildings boosted it. I suggest nerfing chivalry bonus on pop. growth just like in BC.

80% of what? Native growth? Or is it just the population requirement increase?

Each pip(the symbol in your settlement details) is 80% of normal. Normal is .05 for each one. You need more than 1 pip to see this effect
