A FATHER and son who treated international sex trafficking as a “family business” are facing jail.
Marius ‘Mario’ Nejloveanu, 23, brought vulnerable women to Birmingham from their native Romania to work as prostitutes and his 51-year-old father, Bogdan ‘Uncle’ Nejloveanu, helped him.
The victims were duped into coming with promises of work or believed Marius loved them.
But they instead found themselves working in a squalid flat in Hob Moor Road, Small Heath, with punters charged as little as £10-a-time.
The Nejloveanus, who used to live in Bordesley Green, were squeezed out of the area by rival pimps and instead sent the women to Manchester, where they were forced to work and sleep inside brothels.
But they were yesterday brought to justice after Greater Manchester Police launched its biggest-ever sex trafficking investigation.
Marius was found guilty at Manchester Crown Court of 27 charges including sex trafficking, assault, rape, controlling prostitution, intimidation and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Bogdan was found guilty of seven charges including sex trafficking and controlling prostitution. Both will be sentenced at a later date.
