Default I dont want to kill my allies :(

Well, its the year 1250 and I'm playing as the Turks on the Early Era Campaign.
I'm doing my best to hold off the mongols(which is actually pretty fun and easy,
since i can just deploy stakes at the gates of my settlements...) But I just realized
that my victory conditions say that I have to kill the Fatimid Caliphate, who has been
my ally for over 100 years and has aided me in countless battles and jihads against
infidels. I really, really, REEAALLYY, don't want to suddenly betray my good friend.
If I edit the victory conditions, will it be save-game compatible? If not, then do you
have any ideas on how I can bring about the death of the Egyptians without having
to go to war with them?

Assassinate their family members. And massively fund the Sicilians so that they can expand and beat the Egyptians. Or buy a few Egyptian settlements and give them to the Pope. Then give the Pope a million florins.

Changes to victory conditions are not savegame compatible.

    well, it's roleplaying anyway
Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember
    Nothing is true.
Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember
    Everything is permitted.
We work in the dark to serve the light. We are assassins.
Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

How big is their empire? How many territories do they have? Depends how strong they are for the tactics that will be easiest to beat them.

He's not afraid of them, he just wants them to die without him having a guilty conscience.

I understand that but if he is planning on winning his game he is going to have to beat them eventually. There is no other way to win with them in the game. If they only have 4-5 territories then he can just assassins to kill off their family tree. But if it is a large empire it will be easy to just go to war with or pay someone else to do it.

Ignore victory conditions and play how you want. There's no reward like there is in vanilla.

Well, without actually waging war on them you can always go the underhanded route. Use Assassins, wipe out the leaders, give bordering lands to one of their enemy factions, pump money into them, have spies weaken and cause havoc in their buildings, yadda yadda.

Honestly though, there's no reason why you really have to kill them. If you don't want to, then don't. Play the campaign for as long as you want and when you have conquered enough call it a day. Otherwise, on a long enough timeline they will betray you. Eventually it will be just you and them, and they won't be so sentimental ;P

Don't kill such noble allies! Ignore them and/or aid them until they start to betray you. You should keep them as long as possible and ignore the victory conditions. After all, this is alternative history anyways!

Wait till your current king dies and then pretend that the son was disgraced by the heir to the Fatmid throne. That way you can role play a reason into invading and destroying their caliphate.

    Awww.... that's kinda cheap.

    You: You have disgraced me!
Fatimid King: But, I have just beaten you in a noble game of chess!
You: I have never been beaten so quickly by your father. You should have known that I was a sore loser!
    Fatimid King: I..... uh..... I didn't know. I apologize.
You: It is far too late for words! It is time for WAR!

Hey that sounds like actual history. I believe Henry the eight went to war against his cousin the kind of France cuz he lost a wrestling match to him. Royalty is all about ego...

Dude, I have the same feelings playing Teutonic Order - I don't want attack Poland - my trustfull allies. Anyway, my suggestion is - pretend they gived up ideals of Islam or are to weak to defend the faith of Mohamed or something like that.

If you like roleplaying then just decide to attack them when they get a new king.. Act like he is evil and wants to destroy the caliphate and you "rescue" egypt from their doom!
    Will and act until victory

Or if your own king happens to get the Dangerously Mad trait is a great way to roleplay some random destructive acts against once faithful allies.
