I need help

Well, first of all hi to everyone.

I am a new member of these site.

I have visited these site mods for about a month now and I am really impressed with many of the mods.

Sadly I don't really get these things (modding) therefore when I download a mod, I don't know how to run it. Where to paste the files etc.

I tried downloading that guy called darkvader or darklord mod that had over 30 new units, but I really got lost with so much files, that I couldn't install it and messed up my Rome: Total War files.

These has happened to me 3 times already, and I must say it is very frustating to install everything again 3 times. That includes the version 1.6.

So I was asking if anyone could help me understand what to do with these mods.

Where I paste them for them to work? Which are the top mods, etc.

Hi,Welcome

1° Check the version of Rome to operate with Mod Almost use 1.2 and DON?T work if you have the 1.0, 1.1, 1.3\4, or 1.5\6

2° Read the Readme.txt and if exist "How to install" in to radme or in 3d in to the forum

3° NEVER mix the Mods, make more copy of Rome and reneme (SPQR, RTR, EB, etc,etc)

4° MAke a new copy and call this BackpUp, and use this one as Source for future new copy(and NEVER touch !!!)

5° Download\install\and enjoy your Mod.\mods

6° When your mod is old or you don't play it again just delete the folder.
