    Default When taking a settlement

Hi peeps, when taking a settlement I normaly kill them all, however, does the enslave option work for fatw?
And is it "acceptable" for Dunland to do this in Tolkkien's world?
Also should I destroy all foreign culture buildings, or do some of them produce units or advantages later in the game, again is it "acceptable" for Dunland to do this in Tolkkien's world?

    What do you mean?

As for the foreign culture buildings... destroy them...

They really don't serve a purpose to you... They go against your "religion"... Just causes unrest...

Doesn't cause unrest unless you try and convert people. I currently have some RK cities who have Men of Darkness as their official culture.

I mean are their any "house" rules? You can play the game like Rome with different units and factions, or you can play the game as "Tolkeiner", and play the factions trying to stay in lore. Does anyone here try to play that way?

I try to "role play" a bit w/ my campaigns. Dunland was the faction that was always in conflict with Rohan, lore-wise. They often invaded parts of Rohan, and saw the "horse boys" as having stolen their lands (which I suppose they may be right about, in a way...). They are a more "primitive" people, not building big cities but living in the woods, and the mod models this by giving them lots of ambush-type units with terrain-specific advantages. Dunland was also not above allying with Saruman & his orcs, so they can be rather ruthless.

So when I play Dunland, I keep those things in mind. Try to ambush when I can, or at least fight in forests. Be aggressive, attack unprotected settlements - anything to get an advantage (Dunland needs it).

Exterminating or enslaving would be appropriate for Dunland, I'd think. (Enslaving does work in FATW - just remember that only cities with family members inside them are going to get the pop boost.)

As far as destroying buildings, be careful: Dunland is Men of Darkness, so if you destroy a shrine to Men of the West, you'll be getting a TON of unrest, unless you've converted the population first. You can do that by sending lots of spies or other agents with the Men of Darkness attribute into the region (not necessarily the settlement); family members work for this too. Conversion is a slow process, so be patient - or don't, but be aware that it's tough to hold a city with a different alignment for too long.

Fortunately, Dunland has fairly low victory requirements, IIRC - you don't need to take many settlements to win, so you can afford to smash & run here & there.

Of course, when it comes to Minas Tirith - exterminate!
