making the bayonet invisible

is there any way to make the bayonet invisible i think it looks better without bayonets ive done some attempts to remove it by simply taking away the bayonet Textures but then i just end up with a textureless bayonet so no inprovement there =P can any1 tell me what to do?

I suppose it is an overly simplistic option, but you should be able to go into the technologies effects (not its exact name but there should be something like it)table in DBeditor and just remove the "enable plug bayonet"/"enable ring bayonet" from the effects. I think it will still allow the effects like enabling various buildings and such. You could then increase the base mele attack of the infantry units to compensate.

What I think would be cool (but probably impossible) is if you could make it so that all bayonets have to be fixed onto guns like the plug before using. Though instead of preventing troops from being able to fire, they should reduce their accuracy and reload skill while the bayonet ability is active. But this is off topic.

i am aware i can do that but that is not what i am looking for i want it to simply be invisible so i still got the same stats and i mostly play online so if i will not have the change or it will crash the game
