Default Reccomendations for a fast paced hotseat game

First of all, I want to say that this is the most complete mod I have ever seen, for any game, so good job

Anyways, the last time I played a hotseat game with my friends, we chose factions that were spread all over the place, and never got down to fighting eachother.

So, I was wondering if anybody could recommend to us four factions which will get the game going the fastest, both in terms of distance and military and economy.

Howbout Gondor & Rohan versus Mordor & Isengard?

Or maybe Dale & Silvan Elves versus Rhun & Orcs of the MM.

Yeah, defensive battles would be really nice.

We're thinking eriador/highelves vs OoGG/OoMM, because we went mostly south in out last game.
The problem is that one of my friends wants to be the green elves (blanking on their name) for the ents.

The Green elves are the "silvan elves". I wouldn't rely on the ents. You need Fangorn for them and they are rather a "late-game" unit. When you go for Fangorn (south from the silvan elves start area) I can't see any good partner for them. Maybe Rohan. But the silvan elves are quiet "busy" fighting Mordor and OoMM.

Afaik, I don't think that defensive battles are possible.

I played Hotseat a lot, but my experience is that when you fight a human player, you'll get mad when he defeats your AI-controlled army. Same for your friend.

I had a lot of fun playing rhun and harad. Harad helped rhun crush Dale and Dwarfes very quickly, and now, we are going for Gondor.

Thanks, I was blanking on their names.

I'll tell him that. He's not very experienced with the mod, so he basically said "oh, walking trees", and decided he wanted them.

We usually set the battles on hard of very hard to make it harder to defeat another player's army.

As for harad and Rhun, I like those factions, but we will be constrained for time, and both factions are fairly removed from everybody else.

So i think we'll go for OoGG/OoMM vs High Elves and Eriador. Thaks everybody for your help

if your buddy really wants to play the silvans, you could go high elves and silvan elves vs isengard and OotMM.
