Default Massive amount of Battle CTD's

Just installed the mod a few days ago, did it exactly like the instructions said.

My graphics card is easily capable of running this, I have the new drivers and there is no issue with heat or anything of the sort.

I just get the standard message "has stopped working and will now close" etc etc.

    Any fix to this?

Edit: Just want to add, I'm running on a Windows 7 64bit system, with a XFX GeForce 285 GTX Graphics card.

    Installed patch 2.1a too ?
what kind of battle CTD...there a various types...

    1. loading battle CTD (problems with models)
    2. middle of action battle CTD (runs out of sytem memory, RAM...lower settings)
    3. zooming into units CTD (turn units shaders on, its mandatory !!!!)
    4. end battle CTD on returning to campaign map (still calculating losses, calculated character traits at end battle are not working properly )
    5. siege reinforcement CTD...(when a second army comes to aid the defender while Player attempts to take a city.
